Developer Crystal Dynamics and publisher Amazon Games just agreed to a deal that will see Amazon Games publish the next Tomb Raider release. This marks the biggest third-party deal yet for the publisher that previously helped to release games like Lost Ark (from Smilegate and Tripod Studio) and New World (developed internally at Amazon Games).
The next Tomb Raider game is expected to use Unreal Engine 5 and will once again be a single-player narrative driven action title. The new Tomb Raider is so early in development that its actual name hasn't even been announce yet. Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics are working together "from the ground up to bring their vision to life - from development all the way through publishing."
The last mainline Tomb Raider game was Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which came out in 2018.
