Like a Dragon: Ishin

Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announce the upcoming release of Like a Dragon: Ishin, a remake of the PlayStation 3 spin-off title that was originally released only in Japan. During yesterday's PlayStation State of Play, RGG showed off our first ever look at this remake running on Unreal Engine 4. According to additional details supplied earlier today during the RGG Summit stream, Like a Dragon: Ishin is aiming to be released on February 21, 2023.

Like a Dragon: Ishin is coming to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

As a spinoff, Like a Dragon: Ishin will feature some familiar faces from the Yakuza series but set in an entirely new location and time. Ishin transports you to 1860s Kyo, a fictional version of Kyoto. Kazuma Kiryu portrays the historical figure Sakamoto Ryoma, a samurai skilled in the use of swords, guns, and also (at least in this game) has the ability to summon tigers to aid him in battle. Just like other games in the Yakuza franchise, Like a Dragon: Ishin will have plenty of side activities, minigames, and flashy Heat Actions to utilize in combat.
