In March, Crytek kicked off a special Traitor's Moon event in Hunt: Showdown, the studio's popular PvPvE game. This event would reward players with some legendary skins, provided you played enough to earn enough points to redeem for said skins. Problem was that the event was plagued by constant server woes.

Crytek deployed several patches, hotfixes, and statements about the situation. They apologized to their fans for the issues and extended the event to April 18 instead of finishing on April 14 as originally planned.

Today, Crytek released a YouTube video where they talked about the issues that they encountered during the event and what they have done and are doing to fix them. The studio says that in addition to various backend and ISP issues, the game was also the target of malicious attacks during the event.

Crytek community manger Arian Moshrefi explained what happened with additional details than what were said a month prior.

"We've identified a few different cases that have caused server drops. These cases have included ISP problems—compatibility with them and Hunt have not been great but we're looking into that. We also had some malicious attacks that happened during the event. We're looking into that and want to be more protective against them in the future."
