It's only early April but 2022 has already been a bang-up year for hot video game releases. Some of the biggest games like Dying Light 2 Stay Human, Gran Turismo 7, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Horizon Forbidden West, and an early game of the year contender with Elden Ring have already been released in these early months.

There have also been other big-name releases dropping with Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, next-gen releases of Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online, plus some smaller but still equally hype releases with Weird West and Tunic. There are still plenty of games not mentioned here that have come out from the start of the year up through the end of March, but what lies ahead of us in 2022?

Well, as usual, the release schedule is slowing down a fair bit. The late spring and almost the entirety of the summer months always seem to slow up the big game releases, especially if previous years are anything to go by. Sure, there will still be some big games coming in those months, but the next major release schedule won't happen until the fall and the big pre-Christmas push. We're going to look at just some of the game still currently planned to be released in 2022. Should none of these games tickle your fancy you can always check out the best Kuwait best casino online to satiate your gaming cravings. The extra "best" is because it's the best.

April-June

Throughout this three-month span of time, there will still be a smattering of hot titles to keep an eye on. In April, we have LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which will feature all nine entries in the mainline Star Wars movies in one game.

Sports fans will have MLB The Show 22 to get their baseball fix on most every platform out there save for the PC. If you're more of a strategy fan, Switch owners will get to play 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim on April 12.

May begins to slow up on the releases a bit, but still includes games like the multiplayer scare-fest Evil Dead: The Game and the intense WWII sniper action found in Sniper Elite 5. June continues on with just a few other notable releases. They are the soccer focused Mario Strikers: Battle League, the co-op horror game The Quarry from the Until Dawn developers, and the Switch action-RPG Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

July-September

Here is where the dry spell on releases really hits hard. Across these three months, there isn't too much to look forward to. August 23 will see the release of the new Saints Row game. September will see games like Warhammer 40,000: Darktide on the 13th and Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown for racing fans on the 22nd.

October-December

These last few months of the year are where game releases really start to pick up steam once again. In October, we have the open-world action-RPG Forspoken to look forward to. This game, by Luminous Productions and Square Enix will feature fast traversal and magic-filled combat.

On October 25, WB Games is expected to release Gotham Knights, another action-RPG. This one will focus on Batman and a main cast of characters including Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood. These crime fighters will be working to restore justice to Gotham City after reports of Batman's death. The group will face off with a secret society known as the Court of Owls.

We only have one game slated for a November release, but there will undoubtedly be very many more. However, that one game that we know about sure is a big one. It's none other than Starfield, the latest RPG from Bethesda, the studio behind massive hits like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and the Fallout franchise.

To Be Determined

The list may seem a little short, but that's only because there are hundreds of games that just don't have a set release date announced for them yet, or they only mention a vague release window. There are a lot of major titles still without a release date set, so buckle up and enjoy some of our picks for the biggest games that will hopefully see the light of day before the end of the year.
  • A Plague Tale: Requiem
  • Bayonetta 3
  • The Callisto Protocol
  • Company of Heroes 3
  • The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me
  • Diablo Immortal
  • God of War Ragnarök
  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
  • Redfall
  • Splatoon 3
  • And several others
With any luck, we will have some release dates start to be set in stone in the weeks and months ahead. As with all things in these past few years, anything can happen with any of the release dates we are looking at here.
