Geoff Keighley announced that the Summer Game Fest 2021 will begin on Thursday, June 10. It will kick off with an event called Kick Off Live!, which will be a livestream showcase taking place on June 10 at 2PM (ET) on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and plenty of other streaming services. This event will be hosted by Keighley and will feature "more than a dozen world premiers and announcements from select publishers."

Also included in this Kick Off Live! event will be the Day of the Devs, an indie games showcase hosted by iam8bit and Double Fine Productions. Weezer will also perform, but will perform a "stream safe game soundtrack song." That sounds kind of like a waste of talent, but with DMCA takedowns being what they are, it makes sense.

After this first day of action, the rest of the Summer Game Fest will once again be stretched out over several weeks. Thankfully, they're limiting all of the events to June instead of spread out over like three months. We will see something from the following publishers during the month of June: Activision, Amazon Games, Annapurna Interactive, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Battlestate Games, Blizzard Entertainment, Capcom, Devolver Digital, Dotemu, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Finji, Frontier, Gearbox Publishing, Hi-Rez Studios, Inner Sloth, Koch Media, Mediatonic, MiHoYo, PlayStation, Psyonix, Raw Fury, Riot Games, Saber Interactive, Sega, Steam, Square Enix, Tribeca Festival, Tencent Games, Warner Bros. Games, Ubisoft, Wizards of the Coast, and Xbox.

Keep in mind that E3 2021 will begin on June 12. The Summer Game Fest is not a part of E3. Ubisoft will have their own major event. EA will also hold their own major event in July.
