This is the second Yogscast member accused of sexual harassment this month.
Mark "Turps" Turpin

Mark "Turps" Turpin has resigned as the CEO of The Yogscast today following sexual harassment allegations. Turpin had reported sent inappropriate messages to community members, with at least one person claiming that he attempted to solicit nude photos from her when she was only 17 years old.

This is actually the second employee of The Yogscast to be hit with sexual harassment allegations in as many weeks. Last week, Matthew "Caff" Meredith was dropped from The Yogscast network after as many as eight individuals came forward to accuse the content creator of "abusing his position" to sexually harass them. Meredith was quickly dropped from The Yogscast and a statement was issued by then CEO Mark Turpin about the situation with Meredith.

The statement about Meredith from Turpin has aged quite poorly in light of the recent revelations levied against him. In the statement, Turpin had said that The Yogscast "expects the highest levels of professionalism from its talent."

Around the time of Meredith being let go, Brindley had put a call out on Twitter for people to come forward if they have ever "had a negative experience with a content creator or member of staff." It was this call to the public that allowed the allegations against Mark Turpin to come to light. An investigation was made after the allegations against Turpin surfaced. Turpin was on leave during the investigation and announced his departure today on the Yogscast subreddit.

Hi guys,

Just to let you know I’ve stepped down as CEO of the Yogscast. When I recently said we expected the highest levels of professionalism from our talent, I need to be held to those standards too.

I have sent some inappropriate messages to several members of our community and I’m deeply embarrassed about this error of judgement. There’s no justification or excuse for my behaviour. I was in a position of considerable responsibility and you all deserved better from me. If you’ve been upset by my actions, I’m very sorry.

Regretfully yours,

Turps
Following the statement from Turpin, Lewis Brindley issued his own statement about the ongoing events. Brindley notes that a third Yogscast member, Sjin, is also currently under investigation for "some historical claims" against the longtime Yogscast member.

Hi all - following Turps’ statement I wanted to say something.

Turps is a close friend to many here. I can confirm he’s chosen to resign from the Yogscast. It’s very important to me that we’re held to high standards, and he made the right decision to face up to his actions.

I want to thank those who contacted me at lewis@yogscast.com and apologise to them directly for this. I was also sad to hear that some who came forward suffered bullying on social media, accusing them of faking or making up stories, which is not okay.

It’s been an eye opening week for me - we owe everything to our community so it’s important we deal with bad stuff like this responsibly. I’ve seen actual evidence that looks fake, and fake evidence that looks truthful - so we needed time to look into all of this.

Following your emails - we’re looking into some historical claims against Sjin and I’ve asked him to step away from main channel streams in the meantime. As I’ve said before, we are trying to do the right thing and take these claims seriously and would rather everybody didn’t jump to conclusions.

Thanks for your continued support and understanding!

Lewis
