  • Anthony Davis and Dwyane Wade Named NBA 2K20 Cover Athletes

    Time to shoot some hoops again.
    NBA 2K20

    The cover athletes for the various SKUs of NBA 2K20 were announced today. The upcoming release of the annual basketball game will feature not one but two different NBA stars. They are Anthony Davis and Dwyane Wade.

    Davis is a six-time NBA All-Star, a three-time All-NBA First Team, an Olympic gold medalist, and a three-time member of the NBA All-Defensive Team. He will appear on the cover of the Standard and Deluxe Editions of NBA 2k20. Dwyane Wade is also an Olympic gold medalist, a 13-time NBA All-Star, and the 2006 NBA Finals MVP. Wade will appear as the cover athlete on the Legend Edition.

    This is actually the second time Davis has appeared on an NBA 2K cover. The last time was back in NBA 2K16 with other stars.

    NBA 2K20 will be released on September 6, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. A Stadia release is coming later when Stadia launches. There is no word yet on how much of a reliance the game's multiplayer will have on microtransactions. The previous few years have been under constant fire from fans because of how egregious they have gotten with microtransactions.

    NBA 2K19 has come under additional fire for having unskippable ads enabled by default during loading screens. Users have found that even with the game installed to an SSD, the entire ad has to still play before you can get to the game.

    A moderator on the NBA2K subreddit notes that players can disable these ads in their settings. With those things in mind, if you're still interested in the upcoming NBA 2K20, you can pick it up in one of a few flavors.

    The NBA 2K20 Standard Edition will be available in physical and digital formats for $59.99; players who pre-order will receive at launch:
    • 5,000 Virtual Currency;
    • 5,000 MyTEAM Points;
    • 5 MyCAREER Skill Boosts;
    • MyPLAYER Clothing Capsule;
    • 10 MyTEAM League packs (delivered one per week);
    • 5 Heat Check packs (delivered one per week beginning at the start of the NBA season).

    The NBA 2K20 Digital Deluxe Editionwill be available in digital format only for $79.99 and will include:
    • 35,000 Virtual Currency;
    • 10,000 MyTEAM Points;
    • 10 MyCAREER Skill Boosts;
    • MyPLAYER Clothing Capsule;
    • 10 MyTEAM League Packs (delivered one per week);
    • 10 MyTEAM Heat Check Packs (delivered one per week beginning at the start of the NBA season);
    • 1 Sapphire MyTEAM Cover Athlete Card.

    The NBA 2K20 Legend Edition will be available in physical and digital format for $99.99 and will feature custom cover art and exclusive in-game items, including:

      by Dr. Arty Fish

      As a highly educated and experienced medical professional with several degrees in the field, I must say that I strongly disagree with the negative outlook towards the video game WWE 2K20 as outlined in the previous article titled "WWE 2K20: Glitches, Jabronis, and Wasted Money." The article argues that the numerous glitches and bugs present in the game render it a complete waste of money, and goes on to suggest that the time and resources spent on it could be better utilized elsewhere....
