MK11 Noob Saibot

Two additional characters were revealed this past week for Mortal Kombat 11. These are in addition to the other two, Jacqui Briggs and Kotal Kahn, which were revealed a few days ago as well. This weekend's latest additions include the return of Noob Saibot and none other than Shang Tsung.

Noob Saibot is being added as a regular roster character and is included with the base game. Shang Tsung, on the other hand, will be the first DLC character added to the game after its launch. However, there are a few other cool tidbits of info when it comes to Shang Tsung.

First off, he will be your host and narrator as you explore the Krypt and unlock new content. The Krypt being a a feature of the previous games wherein you can spend in-game currencies to unlock new pieces of cosmetics or concept art. He will be your host regardless of whether or not you purchase him as a DLC fighter.

MK11 Shang Tsung

Secondly, Shang Tsung is being played by Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, the actor that portrayed him in the 1995 Mortal Kombat film. Given that Mortal Kombat was Paul W.S. Anderson's best work as a Director next to Event Horizon, it stands to reason that fans are rather excited to see Tagawa reprise this role.

While we do have a trailer for Noob Saibot direct from WBIE and NetherRealm, there isn't one for the Shang Tsung reveal. However, third-parties recorded the reveal as it was streamed from the Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo. The audio on Shang Tsung's reveal is rather poor as a result. If WBIE and NetherRealm get proper upload of the reveal out there, we'll replace that video below. Even with the poor audio quality, Tagawa's voice as Shang Tsung is unmistakable.

Noob Saibot
Once known by the name Bi-Han, and the original Sub-Zero, Noob Saibot was a cold-blooded assassin, corrupt from years of violence and evil. Murdered by his clan’s enemy, Scorpion, Bi-Han was resurrected as the black-clad wraith, Noob Saibot. Both shadowy and mysterious, his soul was stripped of compassion and remorse, and now he considers himself the perfect warrior using his ninja-like and phantom abilities to carry out his darkest impulses.

Shang Tsung
The host of the first Mortal Kombat tournament and faithful servant to Shao Khan. A powerful, shapeshifting sorcerer, he absorbs living souls to maintain his youthful appearance and command, while morphing into other characters to use his adversaries’ own moves against them in battle. Shang Tsung is one of six playable DLC fighters included in the Kombat Pack, which is part of the Mortal Kombat 11 Premium and Kollector’s Editions.
