What do you get when you put together some former developers of Halo with some former developers of Battlefield? You get Midwinter Entertainment and their newly announced third-person shooter, Scavengers.

Scavengers will "build on the game design principles" first seen in Halo 5's Warzone game mode. That is to say there will be large environments and competing player teams, along with distinct factions including unique weapons and behaviors along with "free-roaming and highly sophisticated AI enemies."

Josh Holmes, the former Studio Head and Creative Director at 343 Industries is the CEO of Midwinter Entertainment.
“We started Midwinter with the goal of creating innovative, shared experiences for millions of players around the world,” says Josh Holmes, CEO of Midwinter Entertainment. “When we introduced Warzone in Halo 5, it represented the pinnacle of blended PVE/PVP. Now with SpatialOS, we have the ability to push the boundaries of ‘co-opetition’ gameplay in Scavengers, with teams of players competing as armies of smart AI move intelligently across the map, hunting down players and each other.”

There is co-op gameplay for both players and the AI. It focuses on team-based multiplayer. The game world promises to be "living" and "dynamic." So help me if I ever see or hear the line "become legend" in the promotional materials for this game.
Scavengers is a multiplayer “co-opetition” – a team battle for survival set in a beautiful, frozen wilderness.

With limited resources, your team works together to complete objectives and scour a hostile world for improved gear, weapons and tools in a limited amount of time.

Starting players appear somewhat reluctant and tentative, but gain poise, confidence, and leadership in their journey towards adulthood, unraveling the mysteries of the world they find themselves in.
