Those who have been with Total Gaming Network for a while may remember 21st Century Warfare, otherwise known as 21CW. After a long hiatus, some might say it's been a bit too long, 21CW has returned and aims to be bigger and better than ever.
21CW attempted something new in the world of gaming: Organized, massive Battlefield wars where hundreds of players came together to play and "live the campaign." 21CW, along with Battle for Europe: World at War, aimed to create Divisions, Companies, and Squads. It filled weekends with with entertainment, good times with friends, and camaraderie with teammates.
All of these were tied together through real coordination using real chains of command that you would find in many real militaries around the world. Working together with your brothers in arms wasn't just a way to win a match, it was a way to shift the ever-changing frontlines of a virtual war.
At its height, 21CW was the largest Battlefield 2 tournament in the world, with over 600 players fighting in twelve-hour operations. The battles were legendary. The friendships, rivalries, and late-night Discord/TS [TeamSpeak] comms? Unforgettable.
21CW has been rebuilt from the ground up. Right now on the 21st Century Warfare website, you can see and join Divisions and Companies. The "full chain-of-command structures are live again." The website also includes the latest news not just for 21CW but also for Battlefield 6. There is also plenty of new and archived media and videos from the long history of 21CW.
The road hasn’t been smooth. - Server crashes, publisher shifts, dwindling player bases - all tested us. Migrations from Desert Combat to Battlefield 2, from early vBulletin forums to modern platforms, forced us to reinvent more than once. When Battlefield titles moved away from true large-scale PC play, many thought organized community wars were gone for good. But the community never died. Veterans carried the torch, names like Crrrazzzy, Juno, and Syndrogo (and so many others) stayed connected.
