Battlefield 4 released back in October of 2013. Though it's been almost eight years since release, the game is about as popular as ever and it's all thanks to the recent Battlefield 2042 announcement.

This surge in popularity has seen a huge number of additional players trying to play the game once more. This increase in the number of players joining had caused an increase in the server queue times, especially in US West. Thankfully, EA has taken notice and has increased server capacity in that region. This should get players into games faster.

EA says that they will "continue monitoring queue times and will make further adjustments as necessary."

Players flocked back to Battlefield 4 following the 2042 reveal because of its somewhat similar setting and story. Battlefield 4 is the most recent Battlefield title that is closest to "modern" warfare. Battlefield 1 was World War Iand Battlefield V was World War II.
