The first trailer, a gameplay trailer at that, was just revealed for Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 2. This is an upcoming sequel to the fan-favorite turn-based tactical game of the same name. Mechanicus 2 is expected to release later this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
This trailer shares with you a first look at the new planetary conflict between the Adeptus Mechanicus and the Necron dynasty. There are "gripping tactical skirmishes across visually diverse and richly detailed battlefields."
Mechanicus 2 does promise to deliver something never before seen in a Warhammer video game: The Leagues of Votann. Their motives remain unknown. They could be "fellow seekers of knowledge, mercenaries in search of profit, or something far more dangerous."
From the forbidding and labyrinthine underworld of the Necron tombs to the highly industrial, techno-religious forge cities of the Adeptus Mechanicus, the trailer showcases a wide range of new environments players will contest in their quest for dominion and discovery across two playable campaigns.
The trailer also reintroduces familiar faces. Magos Dominus Faustinius’ trusted advisors return, this time as deployable and upgradeable leaders of his skirmish forces. Each brings their own unique personality and battlefield specialisation, adding a new strategic layer to your command.
