A free new content update for the life sim game Calico will be out on December 22, 2022. The teams at Whitethorn Games and developer Peachy Keen Games have put together a rather hefty update that will add in a bunch of new features and content.
Those of you with the game on Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam, EGS, and lots more listed on their site) will soon be able to befriend and play with a variety of new animals. There are some UI and visual updates that will "provide a more pleasant playing experience" for players. There will also be a way to customize the wallpaper and floors in the cafe itself.
The biggest new feature being added is a new cooking minigame!
The cooking that players have come to know and love have now been expanded! Each recipe now comes with its own series of minigames to perform in the kitchen. A new system for selling food in the cafe has also been added; time and accuracy in the recipe minigames will award players with a gold, silver, or bronze star, which will provide different bonuses to sales prices. But be careful: once customers have bought all the fresh food, star bonuses will disappear until that recipe is played again.
