Ben "DrLupo" Lupo is a professional streamer that has amassed quite the following on Twitch after years of streaming content. At last check, DrLupo had about 4.5 million followers on Twitch and had over 171 million stream views. Despite this fame, DrLupo is abandoning the Twitch purple and moving over to team red with a switch to YouTube Gaming.

Starting on August 31, DrLupo will begin streaming to his 1.7 million followers on YouTube Gaming. This will undoubtedly increase significantly as more of his dedicated fans make the switch to watch him on another platform. Over the years on Twitch, DrLupo rose to popularity streaming games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Destiny among many others. He has also raised millions of dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The idea of poaching big name streamers from one streaming platform to another is really nothing new. DrLupo going to YouTube Gaming certainly won't be the last major name to make the switch.

Twitch issued a statement earlier today where they wished DrLupo "nothing but the best in everything that comes next." DrLupo says that this partnership will allow him to "expand (his) brand through other entertainment initiatives." There is no word on how much, if anything, YouTube paid DrLupo to make the switch from Twitch to their streaming service.
