Blinkclick Games just announced their latest "Sims in an aquarium" game going by the name of Fishkeeper. In Fishkeeper, you will play the role of a hobbyist that is looking after an aquarium. You will buy your own tank and equipment. You will select which fish you will take care of and, in real time, you will care for those fish as if they were really there.
The game will eventually offer a range of freshwater and saltwater species of fish, shrimps, snails, plants, and corals. You will be able to take care of all of this and customize your aquarium as you desire. Each plant and animal will have unique appearances in addition to unique needs. Factors such as food, space, companionship, and even specificity of reproduction. You will be able to buy upgrades for your aquarium as well as buy and sell fish species at auction. Eventually you will be able to craft bigger and better tanks.
You will be able to marvel at your aquarium from the outside and from within thanks to a little drone that gives you a first-person look into the waters. You can even change your little drone's appearance, color, battery capacity, speed, and modules. The device will also allow you to record films, take photos, and even clean the aquarium.
A new gameplay video was released today via IGN. Look for Fishkeeper to appear on the PC via Steam and other storefronts later in 2021.
Main features of the game:
- Combining an economic strategy with a simulator: meet the needs of fish and observe their lives in real time, while ensuring good breeding results;
- A wide variety of freshwater, marine, coral, shrimp, snails and other aquatic species are available;
- Customize the aquarium equipment, shape, size and appearance of tanks;
- Buy various animal and plant species, sell bred fish in the store and, exceptionally, fine and rare specimens at an auction;
- Watch the views from the bathyscaphe cabin as you control it inside the aquarium; you can also use it to clean the tank from the inside;
- Decorate your aquarium with lots of decorations, corals, posters etc.
