  • Someday You'll Return is Out Now on PC

A horror game with a story to tell.

CBE Software is a very small development team working out of the Czech Republic. After five years of work and development, the pair of friends have fully realized their dream and released Someday You'll Return on the PC. This new psychological horror title will come to other platforms such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.

Someday You'll Return is out now through Steam for 10% off of its regular $34.99 (USD) price.

This narrative-driven horror title focuses on the ideas of "fatherhood, fears, lies, and the refusal to accept one's past." As Daniel, you are searching for your missing daughter, Stela. As you continue your search, you will have to face some demons from your past and a place you swore you'd never return to, the Moravian forests.

“Five years ago, Lukas (Medek, CBE Software co-founder) and I came up with an idea. We wanted to set our next game into our Czech homeland, populate it with local legends and folklore and show the world places we experienced as children. We wanted gamers to experience how it feels to walk through the beautiful nature of our country while experiencing very Jungian psychological horror.
It has taken five years since that fateful decision to bring you Someday You’ll Return, a game about family, home, and relationships but also about the intimate fears we all have. We hope you enjoy it.” - Jan Kavan, CBE Software co-founder.
    About Someday You'll Return
Someday You’ll Return takes place in scenic areas of the Czech Republic, with well known landmarks to capture the atmosphere of its Bohemian nature. Using a typical Czech forest setting, which is different from Scandinavian or American forests, creates a unique mood for players. The referenced locations and mythos in the game are ancient with some of the tales in Someday You’ll Return dating back to the 9th century.

Fails to live up to others in the genre this franchise helped to create.

The Alone in the Dark reboot was just released today and it seems like the reviews have placed it firmly in the realm of being merely ok but with some serious shortcomings. This release from Pieces Interactive and THQ Nordic currently sits at a 62% critical average on OpenCritic, with only 42% of reviewers recommending this new release.

Interestingly, the actual scores for this game range everywhere...

Someday You'll Return is a "narrative-driven psychological horror" game that places you in the shoes of Daniel. Daniel's daughter, Stela, is a runaway and you're trying to find her. In the process, you will take Daniel through places that he "swore never to return to."

One such place is the Moravian forests and apparently some bad stuff went down in Daniel's past in this location. This new trailer, entitled "Remembrance" shows how Daniel will have...
