Giving a new meaning to the term "holiday spirit."
Blair Witch dog

Though the Blair Witch game was already released on the PC and Xbox One, PlayStation 4 owners were left out in the cold. Today, the wait was made a bit more bearable for eager fans as developer Bloober Team announced that their horror filled adventure is hitting the PlayStation 4 on December 3, 2019.

The release will be priced at $29.90 (USD) and will be made available through the PlayStation Store. Blair Witch is a game based off of the Blair Witch films and other media. It's not a retelling of any of the previous content and it does have a unique plot all of its own. I personally thought that the first-person horror title was decent. The ending segment, while having a fair number of high intensity moments, did drag on for just a bit too long. For $30 though? Yeah, I think it's worth recommending if you like horror games with a high production value or if you like the Blair Witch universe.

The PlayStation 4 release of Blair Witch will have some "gameplay and technical enhancements" compared to other versions. It will also allow you to customize your dog, Bullet, in a number of ways. The "Good Boy Pack" of content includes new dog skins, new in-game cell phone games, wallpapers, and even new animations for Bullet that make him "even more realistic." This Good Boy Pack will also be released for the PC and Xbox versions of the game.

Blair Witch offers fans, and players alike, their own descent into madness through an original story inspired by Lionsgate’s iconic Blair Witch. Set in 1996, a young boy disappears in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. Players experience the horror as Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past, accompanied by his trustful canine companion, Bullet. Their story starts as they join the search for the missing boy, but players shortly discover the horrors that await as the woods twist and turn into an endless nightmare. Ellis will have to confront his fears, and his past, along with the mysterious force that haunts the woods.

The first-person experience studies players’ reactions to the many dangers, stresses and tolls that the original story delivers, and results in one of various potential playthroughs. In addition to the horrifying psychological experience, there is a balanced display of the beautiful environments showcased in full in-game 4K; tricking adventurers to feel a sense of relief before venturing even deeper into the home of the iconic Blair Witch. Blair Witch is enhanced for 4K gameplay on Xbox One X and supported PCs via Steam, and will also be supported via PS4 Pro upon its digital release.
