In space, only Cthulhu can hear you scream.
Moons of Madness from Funcom and Rock Pocket Games is slated to be released on PC starting on October 22, 2019. A PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release is also coming, but you'll have to wait until January 21, 2020 for that.
Moons of Madness is the result of combining elements of Lovecraftian horror with the vast, oppressive mysteries of space. You play as Shane Newehart, the chief engineer on a research facility on Mars. When things start to go wrong, and go wrong they will, you can't really rely on help to just quickly swing by.
Newehart will have to deal with issues within his own mind as all good Lovecraftian games should. Of course, you will also face off against external threats. Monsters? The environment? All of those? Well, that's up to you to find out.
This game is said to be set within the game thematic universe as The Secret World. The team at Funcom says that while players who have enjoyed The Secret World will recognize names and themes, you do not have to play those games to enjoy Moons of Madness.
According to IGN, this is apparently "one of the scariest looking games (they've) ever seen." Take that however you will.
