Kickin' Brass and taking names.

Tripwire Interactive just released their latest free content update for Killing Floor 2 today. They're calling it Killing Floor 2: Back & Kickin' Brass and if you were in the room with me, you would have been able to hear my eyes rolling when I first read the name of this update.

As already mentioned, this free content update has a bit of a steampunk vibe going for it. There are some new things and some old things. There is a free weekend and a sale, at least for the Steam version. It's a little of this and a little of that. It's also an update that is available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the already mentioned PC version.

One of the bigger additions in today's update is the inclusion of a new game mode called Objective. This mode offers a "fresh narrative experience" for Killing Floor 2 and includes unique animations, UI elements, special tasks, cinematics, and more. This new mode is in addition to a new map called "Steam Fortress." ...Stop. Please.

Today's update adds in prestige rank 5 and limited-time skins and other cosmetics to unlock. This is paired with the return of the Summer Slideshow Zeds and "the continuation of the steampunk adventure sof Lockheart, where players can assist Lockheart in repairing and refueling his rocket in order to blast off and begin an assault on the moon." The Moon? I hear that place is haunted.

A free weekend begins today at 1PM (ET) through Steam. Once the sale begins, the game will be on sale. How much? I don't know, they didn't say and the sale isn't live yet for me to check.
