The competition is fierce.
MK11 Kombat League

WBIE and NetherRealm Studios are about to deliver a new "Kombat League" to fans of Mortal Kombat 11. A new gameplay trailer came out today for this brand spanking new seasonal ranked mode. Those who prove they can prove that they're a cut above the rest have a chance to earn exclusive in-game rewards.

Kombat League is set to kick off on June 18 and will be released as a free content update for all Mortal Kombat 11 owners.

Each season will be four-weeks long. There will be nine different tiers ranging from the pathetic "Apprentice" all the way up to the mighty "Elder God" tier. Players will get in-game items rewarded for each newly unlocked rank that they achieve. The rewards will be cumulative, allowing players to earn all unlocked items up to the highest tier achieved each season.

There will also be various daily and seasonal quests that players can complete to give them some new in-game items. The competition will utilize an "optimized matchmaking system" for Kombat League. This should make sure that players are being matched up against opponents that are at their same skill level. If you don't believe that, you can always take a look at the new odds meter that will give you the odds of winning against an opponent in each ranked match.

The studios also pass along word that early access for Shang Tsung is also releasing tomorrow for those that own the Kombat Pack for MK11.
