A quick double dose of Resogun news for you today. First up, Housemarque revealed that the game's next expansion, Resogun: Defenders, will be out on Tuesday, February 17.

On top of that, owners of the game will receive a free update today by way of the Resogun: Challengers update. This changes the game's progression system. You can now earn Challenge points for completing challenges across the various game modes. These points can then be used to level up. Challenges are done in a single playthrough but the other new addition, Feats, will take multiple runs to complete.

Resogun: Defenders will add two new game modes for you to enjoy: Protector and Commando. Protector will have you protecting one of the last human colonies with a new "planet flip" game mechanic. It also adds new environmental hazards and new power-ups. The Commando mode will turn you into a little human for the first time in the game. All you have is a minigun to protector yourself with.

The DLC will be $4.99 (USD) on its own or as a part of the game's Season Pass. You can find out more at the PlayStation blog.
