  • Report: Telltale Games is Working on a Game of Thrones Game

According to sources at IGN, Telltale Games is hard at work developing a Game of Thrones game. Steve Allison, the Senior Vice-President of Publishing at Telltale Games remarked that they have "no comment" about a potential Game of Thrones game.

At present, Telltale is still working on releasing the remaining chapters for its Fables based series, The Wolf Among Us and kicking off the second season for The Walking Dead. In the past, it also worked on some licensed franchises including The Walking Dead and Back to the Future. Though Telltale Games is no stranger to killing off a lot of characters in its titles, it will be interesting to see what happens in this game. I'm also going to assume that a lot of the sex and nudity will be toned back for the game. Just a hunch.

This also marks the most times the word "game" has appeared in a news title here.

But don't call it a comeback.

After being shut down last year, it appears as though Telltale Games is making a return. Well, at least the name is making a return. The assets that were still under the Telltale name were purchased by a company named LCG Entertainment. This company will sell some of Telltale's old titles and will reportedly work on new games based on old Telltale properties. These will be in addition to new licenses.

Reports started to come in that Telltale Games, the development studio behind adventure titles like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, was hit with a huge number of layoffs today.

The studio, which has been actively developing and releasing The Walking Dead: The Final Season, is reportedly down to just 25 employees. In early to mid-2017, over 300 people were said to be employed at the studio. And to those who may be confused, I'm not talking about 25% of the staff remaining....

Former Employee Files Lawsuit Against Telltale for Breaking Labor Laws
      by Shawn Zipay
The recent and very sudden closure of Telltale left many in the gaming industry saddened. Fans were sad because it their favorite franchises may never be finished or given a sequel. More importantly though, hundreds of employees were let go without advance warning and without severance pay.

This is a big "no-no" when it comes to little things like "laws."

A former employee of Telltale is now suing the company in a class-action lawsuit. Polygon reports that the lawsuit was filed in a federal court in San Francisco on Monday. It was submitted by Vernie Roberts on behalf of himself and the other workers that were laid off this past Friday. The suit says that Telltale did not give "cause" and did not give them "advance written notice as required by the WARN Act." ...
