It was a stealth announcement that flew under most people's radar.
Rift of the Necrodancer

Crypt of the Necrodancer just had a sequel low-key announced today by Brace Yourself Games. The studio took to Twitter to announce that Rift of the Necrodancer is in development.

This announcement of a new game came alongside a substantial DLC release for Crypt of the Necrodancer called Synchrony. This DLC adds in three new characters to the game, along with co-op and competitive multiplayer for up to eight people. This DLC also adds in full mod support to the game plus an in-game area to access user created mods. Synchrony also adds in other new content such as new enemies, items, traps, shrines, plus various tweaks and fixes.

As for this new sequel, well, there just isn't much to share right now. The reveal came at the end of the new Sychrony trailer (seen below). All we were given was a title and a look at the logo. A release date, platforms, gameplay features, and so on are just not known right now.

If you haven't yet picked up Crypt of the Necrodancer yet, now is as good a time as any. It's currently on sale for 80% off on Steam, making it just $2.99 (USD) for the base game.
