Nintendo just announced Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, a hack-and-slash action-RPG that is set a long 100 years before the events of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
This game is being developed by Koei Tecmo's Omega Force team. Age of Calimity will tell the story of the calamity that is referenced multiple times throughout Breath of the Wild. Much like Dynasty Warriors, you can expect to take on hundreds of foes at once. The roster includes the usual suspects of Link and Zelda. They will be joined by the four Champions, playable for the first time.
Nintendo will reveal more about the game on August 26. Until then, here is a brief teaser from Nintendo themselves along with official screenshots and artwork.
