Denis Dyack has resurrected his planned spiritual successor to the wildly popular Eternal Darkness GameCube game. Shadow of the Eternals is making a comeback after it was put on hold in 2013 following two failed Kickstarter campaigns.

The game resurfaced this week by Quantum Entanglement Entertainment, or QE2, Dyack's newly formed development studio. Shadow of the Eternals looks to recapture the psychological tension from Eternal Darkness. Like it's predecessor, it will tell a story from multiple viewpoints over the course of thousands of years.

A nine-minute long gameplay video can be seen below showing one protagonist, Clara, meeting up with Elizabeth "The Blood Countess" Bathory. As you may have guessed, the two are looking into a strange tome.

There is no announced platforms for the game just yet. Let's hope that lightning can strike twice, because a new Eternal Darkness type of game would be amazing right about now.
