Toys for Bob, the studio that brought us the fantastic Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, is now working on the Call of Duty franchise. Specifically, they are now a support studio for Call of Duty: Warzone, the free-to-play battle royale game that just recently surpassed 100 million players.

The studio made the announcement last night on Twitter. They say that "Toys for Bob is proud to support development for Season 3 of Call of Duty #Warzone, and look forward to more to come."

Toys for Bob is now the fourth studio to have a hand in developing Warzone. The first was Infinity Ward, then came Treyarch. Raven Software is now the current lead developer on Warzone.

This move also comes alongside word that some employees have recently voluntarily quite Toys for Bob. Activision denies rumors that the studio has undergone any layoffs though.

"There has not been a reduction in personnel recently at the studio," said a company spokesperson. "The development team is operating fully and has a number of full-time job openings at this time. The studio is excited to continue supporting Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, and more recently provide additional development support to Call of Duty: Warzone.”
This move comes just days after a rumor came out suggesting that development of 2021's Call of Duty is struggling. There is even word that Activision already has a "recovery road map" already in place for the game. That's uh... not a good sign if true.
