Battlefield 4 PC Update Includes Mantle, Balancing, Performance Gains, and Undocumented Improvements - January 30, 2014
An update was released earlier today for the PC version of Battlefield 4. Most notable in this update, at least for ATI users, is the addition of Mantle support to the game. Also included are various performance gains for all hardware types, weapon balancing, vehicle balancing, and more.

Upcoming Battlefield 4 Pistol Tweaks Detailed by DICE
Not content just with buffing soldier weapons or mucking around with vehicle balance, they're also working on tweaks for the pistols in Battlefield 4.

DICE Details Upcoming Soldier Weapon Tweaks for Battlefield 4 Including DMR Damage Buff
DICE is turning the "EZ Mode" for the Recon class up to at least 10 with the upcoming patch. Today, the Battlefield 4 blog talks about some weapon tweaks coming to the game. Weapon tweaks that include a damage buff to DMRs and increased accuracy when sniping.

DICE Announces February as Player Appreciation Month - Includes Free Unlocks, Battlepacks, and More
DICE has decided to turn February into Player Appreciation Month for Battlefield 4. Think of it as their way of saying "sorry" for releasing one of the biggest blunders of the modern gaming era.

DICE Reveals Plans on Vehicle Balancing Tweaks Coming to Battlefield 4
After trying for a few hours just to get their blog to load, I finally see now how DICE plans to introduce even more balance to the vehicles in Battlefield 4.

Battlefield 4 Running on Mantle Runs Up to '45% Faster'
During AMD's CES 2014 conference, the company discussed a bit about their upcoming Mantle API and how it will impact Battlefield 4 performance. They said that they've seen "up to" 45% increases in framerate in some cases in Battlefield 4.

Reminder: Double XP Event for Battlefield 4 Premium is Active
Just a quick reminder to all owners of Battlefield 4 and Premium out there that there is an ongoing Double XP event underway. This event began yesterday at 8AM (ET) and is active for 58 hours.

AMD Mantle Support for Battlefield 4 Delayed Until at Least January
If you're an AMD videocard owner and you've been anxiously awaiting AMD Mantle support that was promised for Battlefield 4, you're going to have a bit of a longer wait.
With DICE focused on fixing bugs for the game, support for the new API has now been pushed back to some time in January. A spokesperson for EA issued the following statement to SemiAccurate.

Rumor: EA May Offer Free Battlefield 4 DLC as Apology for Releasing a Buggy Mess
As a way of apologizing to the community, EA may offer up some free DLC for Battlefield 4 if current rumors are to be believed. It isn't much to go on, but the rumor suggests that DICE and EA will give out some free DLC to make up for releasing what is arguably the buggiest AAA release of 2013.
