October 19, 2021 marks the release date for Dying Light Platinum Edition for the Nintendo Switch. This was revealed yesterday evening during the latest Nintendo Direct.

The new gameplay trailer, seen below (maybe, if YouTube doesn't restrict it), shows off the game running on Switch hardware. There will be several Switch specific features including HD Rumble, touchscreen support, gyro aiming, and motion controls.

Whether or not you celebrate the Fourth of July, otherwise known as Independence Day here in the States, you can still enjoy a special in-game event for Dying Light. From July 1 - July 11 you can participate in a special event that allows players to kill infected using fireworks. Techland said that they plan on continuing support of Dying Light for a period of 12 months, beginning later this year. This support will include at least ten free additional DLC packs for the game.
