Yakuza Studio Working on New Franchise

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is busy working on a new project that isn't a new Judgment or Yakuza title.

In a new interview with Famitsu (transcribed by ryokutya), Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio director Masayohi Yokoyama revealed that the studio is planning on creating a new game that is separate from either the Yakuza and Judgment titles.

Yokoyama flat out said, "we're also working on unannounced titles outside of (Yakuza and Judgment)." You really cannot get more definitive...

Japanese Talent Agency to Blame for Lack of Judgment on PC

Sega is unable to reach an agreement with the talent agency.

If you found it weird and annoying that Judgment wasn't coming to PC, you certainly weren't alone. The game was released for the PlayStation 4 in 2019 and came to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and even Stadia in April 2021. At the time, Sega said they had no plans for a PC release.

A little while later, Sega announced a sequel to Judgment called Lost Judgment. This too was also planned for most platforms but...

The games being added include Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War, Nioh 2, Judgment, Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, Moving Out, and NASCAR Heat 5. Alright, so they aren't all top-tier titles, but you can't deny that the...

Lost Judgment Officially Arrives Worldwide on September 24

PC is once again not a part of the party.

Sega and RGG Studio just held a livestream that talked about the future of the Judgment franchise. As was hinted at last night with a cheeky little leak on PSN, a sequel to Judgment is in the works and it will be called Lost Judgment.

Lost Judgment will be released worldwide on September 24, 2021 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Just as the case was with the first Judgment title, it looks like...

Seems like the sequel will be called Lost Judgment.

A new PlayStation Store listing for a Judgment sequel just popped up. This leak on PSN indicates that this sequel will be called Lost Judgment and will be available for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

The store listing for the game indicates that the game will be available in two flavors: Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition.

As of right now, Sega has not made any official announcement about the...

Judgment is Now Available on Next-gen Consoles and Stadia

    Sorry PC owners.

The detective thriller from Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Judgment, has been released today for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia. It can be yours for just $39.99 (USD). This is a remastered version of the PlayStation 4 title that came out in 2019, a game that we quite enjoyed when it was released. Today's release of the game features support for 60fps and improved load times.

Today's release on the next-gen platforms also includes all of...

Judgment is Coming to Next-gen Consoles and Stadia

There is no PC version at this time.

Judgment, the action crime thriller from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, is confirmed to be coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Not only that, but it's apparently coming to Google Stadia. All of this will happen on April 23 for a price of $39.99 (USD).

Sadly, it appears as though there won't be a PC release of the game from the Yakuza devs. Officially, Sega has no plans to bring Judgment to the PC at this time. That is, quite the...

    Judgment is Now Available

    Prepare to get judged.

Sega announced that Judgment is now available for the PlayStation 4 today. Technically, the digital version was released last week, but for those that wanted the physical release, today is your day. Thanks to our Judgment review, at least you know that the wait was worth it, right?

Shameless self-promotion out of the way, let's talk about the game itself, shall we? Judgment is a game not completely dissimilar to the Yakuza titles. Only this time,...

New Yakuza Information Coming July 10

    Hype intensifies.

According to Yakuza series producer Daisuke Sato, there will be new information about the next Yakuza title starring Ichiban Kasuga coming on July 10. This was revealed in an interview with Gamebase.com.tw (via Gematsu) held during a launch event for Yakuza 5 on the PlayStation 4.

Specifically, the question was if Kazuma Kiryu would appear at all in the new title. Kiryu being the main protagonist for for the main entries in the Yakuza franchise up until...

    Review: Judgment (PS4)

    The same, but different.

Sega, specifically the Yakuza team at Sega, are really damn good at what they do. The primarily Japanese developer has been on a roll with their stellar Yakuza-focused releases this generation that include Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2, and Yakuza 6. All of these titles have received high praise both from myself and from other media outlets these past few years.

It should then come as no surprise that the level of quality found in those...

    Judgment Announcement Trailer

Judgment has a new trailer available today. Sony put this new "announcement" trailer up on their YouTube page just a short time ago. We don't have any additional information to share with you about said trailer or the game, but that's just fine.

If you need more details about Judgment, you can always read through the release date announcement. By the way, Judgment is still apparently on track to be released in the Americas on June 25, despite it being pulled from stores...

Judgment to Ship with Two Sets of English Subtitles

Building off of yesterday's news of a June 25th release date for Judgment in the West, comes word today that the game will ship with two different English subtitles to choose from. This was revealed as part of today's new media release for Judgment on the PlayStation Blog.

The Yakuza localization team already does an absolutely tremendous job, but it looks like they're trying to up the ante with Judgment. The idea to have two separate English subtitles ties in to the fact that...

Judgment to Release in Americas and Europe on June 25

Late last night, Sega announced that Judgment will be released in the Americas and throughout Europe on June 25. This reveal came last night via Twitter along with a few additional details about a pre-order bonus.

Fans of the Yakuza games will want to keep an eye on this one. Why's that? Because it's set in the same world as the Yakuza franchise, made by the same developers, and contains some of the same gameplay elements. However, this is not a Yakuza game, it's merely a spin-off....
