Welcome to Mayhem 2.0.

Gearbox has released a new update for Borderlands 3 that takes their Mayhem Mode to Mayhem 2.0. In addition, there are the usual stability and balance changes that were made in the update dated for April 23, 2020.

There is also a new seasonal event that launched today. This event is called Revenge of the Cartels and runs from April 23 through June 4. Today's update also marks the first week of the Loot the Universe event.

The tactical modern warfare FPS is jumping from PC to consoles.

Insurgency: Sandstorm is a tactical shooter that has made some decently sized waves in the PC world. In its first year of availability, Insurgency: Sandstorm has amassed one million players, won a fair number of awards, seems to be generally liked by its fanbase. Developer New World Interactive and publisher Focus Home Interactive hope that success will translate well to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when it releases...

Those looking forward to DOOM Eternal in November will have to wait a bit longer now. id Software announced today that DOOM Eternal has been delayed until March 20, 2020. However, as a bit of good news amongst the sadness is the fact that they will now include DOOM 64 as a pre-order bonus on all platforms.

Yager's "competitive quest shooter" is currently free to download in an early access state for the PC via the Epic Games Store. This release is the start of a series of updates that will see the game continue to grow. The 90s are kind of back.

A modern release of an "old-school FPS" arrives today with the release of Ion Fury. This new game from Voidpoint, 3D Realms, and 1C Entertainment plays out a lot like the first-person shooter games of yesteryear. You have big, fairly open levels that reward exploration. These levels are packed with a ton of enemies, maze like corridors, and a lot of gib producing weapons of destruction.

Classic 90s FPS has a new name.

Ion Maiden billed itself as an "old-school FPS" similar in style to the classic games from the 90s. It entered into Early Access a little while back and it plans to exit Early Access on Thursday, August 15. On that date, the game will toss round after round on the PC, with console releases on the Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One coming later.
