g3 sucks in spray and pray situations, because you have to pray hardly to have anough ammo in your 20 round clip

given only 4 clips per g3, people in most situations do not reload when thier clip is more than half full, i suspect, that average clip of g3 owner is about 14 rounds - it is not enough to win, not enough to kill. even full clip equals to only 2 seconds of fire - it is not enough - pkm sprays fo three times longer before everheating

pkm is overpowered now, to the same extent that noobtoobe was noobish - and i see similarities, because those who abuse it say 'shut up and adapt' - but when their belowed point whoring machines are threated with AA, they cry

i hope, that 1.21 is going to reduce accuracy of lmg's when crouching and stanting significantily, and when prone [only pkm] a bit.

wht it is now is simply not funny nor serious

but, of course ea isnt going to change a thing with that, so.. i'll have to adapt - pkm cant [yet] kill tanks

and allways use cover, i even win from support with an mp5 if i have something like a pillar or a box to play arround...

Determining which infantry kits are a little over the top is a very simple matter of observing which are the most commonly used. Clearly I'd give that award to the PKM because as of right now it's the definite flavor of the month, and as such it has limited the viable class selection down quite a bit. You've got the PKM, for pure offense versus infantry in close quaters, long range sniping capabilities, and light antivehicle properities. The medic, for a blend of very good weapon choices plus healing and reviving capabilites. And then you've got the AT kit for dealing with the vehicles and giving a moderate offensive capability versus other infantry. If it wasn't for armor whores (and having a ****ty armor whore on your team to counter them) this kit would be useless, and if you have good apc/tank//helicopters/planes on your team to take care of the enemy APCs and tanks then I'm of the opinion that this kit is pretty useless, as the PKM does an excellent job dealing with light vehicles and even chasing away helicopters.

Assault is useless now because the PKM beats it at its own game hands down. Spec Ops is pretty useless now even though the guns for the Spec Ops are great, Spec Ops are better off playing as a medic as the C4 is not nearly as good as it was for killing infantry and vehicles with the nerf to "jump-tossing". The sniper is well, the sniper.. is and always has been a burden on any team especially now that a PKM can outsniper them, and once the claymore exploit is resolved they'll be absolutely useless again. That leaves the engineer, and not to say and engineer is a worthless kit, but rather it only applies to armor whores only and as such doesn't play a part in any infantry based combat flag capturing squad.

So to summarize medic + support = win, while everything else + everything else = lose.

ok, other than CLAYMORE whores and the still present bunny hoppers, 1.2 is perfectly balanced.

dont look on the stats, theyre complete bs. try using a PKM yourself, yes it is accurate and damaging, but EASILY killed by some other guns that CAN be used when not prone!

if youre complaining about support, youre complaining about your own lack of skill to deal with it. the only thing that should be nerfed are the LOSER SNIPER CLAYMORE WHORES!

Long time support player here... look at my stats if ya want, ya, I suck.
Personally, I look at the squad I'm in and depending on the map choose what is needed... but will choose support if there are no medic/anti-armor needs.
I take the pkm if it is a chopper heavy map, mg-36 if it is close quarters.
The patch was certainly an eye opener, got quite a few one burst kills at med-long range... same time I could unload 50+ rounds in 3 round bursts and have the target finally notice me, go prone and take me out with a head shot.
Biggest disadvantage is still moving with the gun, come around a corner and meet an enemy face to face and I lose 9 out of 10 times... seems fair to me, I'm trying to line up the 10-15kg pig while he hoses me with his assault rifle/shotgun/pistol.
I'm also one of those dumbasses who is just waiting for a knife in the back.. once I'm prone I have tunnel vision around the sights... heh, I'm sure I'm to thank for more than one knife badge out there.
I liked support before the patch, I love it now. I don't think it is as uber as made out to be here, but maybe it is the servers I play on... or maybe I just suck more than most?

The G3 takes exactly the same number of shots to drop someone and has a faster rate of fire and better accuracy standing or crouching.

Nope, while intuition and experience from pre 1.2 tells you that and I agree it should be the case, in fact the PKM is about 1.5X more accurate than the G3 when standing. This is fact, you can look it up yourself in your objects_server.zip. Now add to that 100 instead of 20 rounds ready to use and insane accuracy when prone and you got really no reason to use the G3 instead of the PKM.

That is flat out untrue. I can fire from standing and prone with the PKM just fine, and have equal (standing) or better (crouching) accuracy than my assault rifle toting opponent. Together with the fact that my bullets do 45 damage each chances are huge that I kill him before he kills me, everything else being equal.

You just don´t get it, do you? Unlike with tanks, planes and helicopters there is no limited supply of this weapon. So everyone can just take support and use the PKM and own with it, cause it´s so easy. It´s not really unfair, as everyone is free to use the gun themselves.
It just destroys the diversity in BF2, the PKM being so good means that there´s not many reasons to take assault for example. IMHO every class should have it´s strengths and weaknesses. As it is now, the PKM has a lot of strengths (extremly accurate prone, as accurate as assault standing, no ammo problems...) and no major weaknesses, making it the ultimate projectile weapon bar none.

Is Support the only class you see on the battlefield?
