if you are good at all at sniping, and use M24, M95 or L96, i can guarantee that the SVD will get you twice the kills.

i have shot so many enemy snipers who are fooling around with L96s so pathetically easily with the SVD that there is absolutely no doubt of its obvious superiority over the other sniper rifles.

also flying egg, SF ghost town is perfect for sniping campers as well as APC campers, but sucks hard for anyone trying to have fun.

Stop trying to be god almighty Mr Know It All, you can't 'guarantee' anything because it's not you that is playing.

The SVD has the worst crosshair of all the sniper rifles, if you can actually call it a crosshair. Even the chunkass M95 crosshair beats it hands down - at least it's a freaking CROSS. Not that triangle crap on the SVD.

The M24/L96A1 are twice as accurate as the SVD, and has a stronger zoom.

The SVD is more a marksman/sharpshooter rifle for medium/long range fights, not a true sniper rifle.

Although the Svd's crosshair is bad the m95 seems to be bugged for me
Most of the time using the m95 i get zoom-outs for no reason, and a lot of my bullets seems to totally miss even at medium range. Also i have to reload twice because the server didnt register the first reload

But i have never noticed this effect ont he m24,Type 88 and the SVD before

I've seen the same thing all too often, zoidberg. I find that random zooming out is caused by trying to scope in before you've finished recocking or reloading your rifle. Happened to me plenty with my M24 at a lot of inconvenient times. Same goes for double reload, altough that just seems to happen at random intervals for me.

And yeah, as effective as the SVD can be (it's better preffered over the type 88 because cityfighting maps are only ever US vs MEC) I simply find the M24 more effective for me. I always find myself getting a bit trigger happy when I get my hands on a semi-auto.
On top of that, I find them far inferior to the bolt-action snipers in most long range situation, and are a little too easily outgunned in medium range combat, due to the low damage. Bolt actions are better for quick hits and pistol finishes should the need arise. Plus the semi-auto's hurt my accuracy averages.

But not to sound negative, of course. :P

a) 3 svd shots on the body
b) 1 M95 shot, then one pistol shot

I personally find that b) is more effective. For long range though, the L96A1/M24 are the ONLY snipers you should use.

I have a fairly low success rate making three successive hits with a semi-auto.
Headshots are certainly the fastest, but that takes good fortune as much as skill in most cases.
I'd have to say M24/Pistol combo works best for me. I'll give the M95 another go occasionally, but it really does make headshots that much harder.

How about : one shot to the head with an M24

I have had enemies literally walking on top of me without noticing my prescence.

LOL, that is sooo funny. They walk right on top of u, don't notice you, then they go prone and start shooting up your teammates. All you do is pull out your knife, stab 'em all, and you just got an easy 3+ kills .

I don't get all the hype about the SVD. I mean, if it works, go ahead and use it, but IMO the gun is only good for medium-long range against regular infantry. If you ever need to shoot over serious long range or go up against another sniper, you'll be badly handicapped. I only use the SVD at karkand because the fog and close buildings restrict a lot of long shots.

Ok guys, as fellow snipers, you can help me out.

Anyone who's got their expert sniper's, or knows a thing or two about earning sniper points, give me a hand?. What's the best way to go about acheiving a huge kill total in the required time?
Also, to any possible contributers, I'm trying to earn the badge legitimately. That means no vehicle whoring, no claymore spamming, etc.. only clean tactics.

I still think that you have a better chance on getting a 'clean' badge in Special Forces because there are more maps suited for high kill counts. If you have the money to spare I would get SF.

Other than that its getting on a server which is only half full with peeps so you have the extra tickets.

Sometimes you just get lucky and have a nice run on a a map. I did a nice 23 - 0 on Dragon Valley the other night. If you stay close to the action the chances of getting a higher count is also bigger.
