A Big Steam Client Update was Just Released
Valve pushed out a rather beefy update to the Steam client. No, there aren't really any visual or layout changes in this update, but it does have a lot of improvements for the client for those across all platforms that Steam is available on.

Valve Announces Subscription Service Dota Plus "An Evolution of the Majors Battle Pass"
Earlier today, Valve announced Dota Plus, a new monthly subscription service for Dota 2 that is "designed to help you get the most out of every match you play." They're also calling it an "evolution of the Battle Pass" that Valve tends to put out for events like The International or the Majors. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Update for February 28, 2018
A new update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was released tonight (February 28, 2018 technically). This update makes tracers more reliable in first-person view. In addition, viewmodels now react to weapon recoil and aimpunch.

CS:GO Betting Scammer PhantomL0rd Suing Twitch Because He's Probably Running Out of Money or Something
In 2016, PhantomL0rd was found to be involved in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive bet rigging and being an undisclosed partial owner of CSGOShuffle, a skin betting website.
Sorry, I meant to say that he was allegedly a total douche canoe that scammed numerous people out of money by lying to them. To make a long story short, PhantomL0rd was banned from Twitch after news broke about his "allegedly" douchey actions.

On Friday, Counter-Strike co-creator Jess Cliffe was hit with a $150,000 bail after being booked into King County jail on Thursday. The representative for the King County Prosecuting Attorney's office, Nyoka Maraire, requested that the bail be set for $250,000. This would be for both the "community's safety and the victim's safety." CS:GO Update for January 10: Panorama UI for CS:GO is... Still Not Here
The moment you're all waiting for is finally here. The moment where you are again disappointed at the lack of the Panorama UI for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Oh well, you should be used to this kind of disappointment by now. At least now you know how your parents feel.

CES 2018: HTC and Valve Announce SteamVR Tracking 2.0 and Vive Pro Headset
Today, Valve and HTC announced a minor technology bump to the HTC Vive. This bump comes in the form of SteamVR Tracking 2.0, which allows for users to link up to four Base Stations in a single space. Steam Hits New Record - Surpasses 18.5 Million Users Online at Once
Yet again, Steam has hit another new milestone. The online distribution platform had over 18.5 million people logged in at one time yesterday. This is not only a new record for the platform, but it's a new record by a long shot. The previous record was a decent amount under 18 million people.

Jim French, Voice Actor Known for Left 4 Dead, Dota 2, and Half-Life 2 Has Passed Away
Jim French, the voice actor behind Bill in the Left 4 Dead games, passed away on December 21 at the age of 89.
French brought a force and a life to Bill that immediately made him my go-to choice any time my friends and I played a game of Left 4 Dead. He continued to breathe life into Bill for a special mission in Payday.
