Square Enix says that over 2 million copies of Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake have been sold. This lofty sales milestone was achieved in the roughly three weeks since November 14, 2024, or the date in which Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake was released.

Available on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake is a complete remake of the original Dragon Quest 3 from 1988....

Square Enix says that they are focused on making the third part for their Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy and are not working on any DLC for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. This news come via an interview between The Daily Star and game director Naoki Hamaguchi.

Square Enix released their new "reimagining" of Dragon Quest 3 today. They're calling it Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake and it's available with a bunch of modern updates on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and on PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.

Square Enix just released a demo for Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven today. This is a demo of the full HD remake of the RPG from 1993, and it arrives ahead of the game's October 24, 2024 release date.

The disappointment is accurate as of May 2024.

Square Enix held a financial briefing back on May 13, 2024 during which they flat out said they're disappointed in the sales of both Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Though held in May, the financial briefing was not made public until September 18th.

President and director of Square Enix, Takashi Kiryu, said that profits for these two Final Fantasy titles "did not meet our expectations."

Final Fantasy 16 from Square Enix is now available on PC and can be purchased from places like Steam and Epic Games Store. Today's release on PC comes in two flavors: The base edition is $49.99, while the Complete Edition with the two released expansions goes for $69.99. Foamstars, the 4v4 suds-filled party shooter from Square Enix, will make the move to a free-to-play model on October 3 at 6PM PT. This F2P model will be for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Just as important here is the fact that this move to F2P means that a PlayStation Plus subscription is no longer required to play the game online. Removing two barriers to entry for Foamstars sounds like a pretty good thing to me.

The previously announced Final Fantasy 7 crossover content for the upcoming Life is Strange: Double Exposure makes a lot of sense. Both are franchises published by Square Enix. Today's new announcement of collaborations with Polaroid and Dr. Martens makes a bit less sense.

I suppose the Polaroid collab makes some sense given that a core mechanic and plot device revolves around photography. The Doc Martens though?...
