I wish Valve would integrate widescreen resolutions into the Half-Life engine, that would be great to see on my monitor. This is obviously a stupid wish <insert the many reasons why> and would never happen, but it sure would be a sight to see.

VALVe is NOT OBLIGATED to update this game in any way sort or form.
Of course he didn't lie, he stated it would be out January 7th; not which year... for all we know it could be 2004, 2005... 2006 (the year we will be seeing TF2).
But the fact is, if Valve wants to have support from their fans, they WILL continue to update their products until they finally get off their ass and push a new one out the door. TF2 which is already how many years late. Not months, we are talking about years here.

Let's all go back and forth about how everyone is complaining even though there really isn't that much of it. While we're at it let's talk about how VALVe is not obligated to release around our schedules (which has never been said before). Then, after that, let's talk about how we're mellow and don't really care that the release was delayed because CS has been going downhill since they made it "nub-friendly" because you can no longer jump with a pistol and shoot someone in the head (that's a pro manuever that no new players could possibly know, after all).
Oh yeah, don't forget we'd rather have a bug-free product than a rushed out pile of suck.

You seem to forget this is a BETA the whole point of a BETA test is to find bugs. My dollar-bet the reason that the BETA isn't out yet is because STEAM hasn't been fixed yet; or they haven't gotten the bandwith from Speakeasy yet.Comment

Me too, man. I repeated 7th grade due to missed school, I pretty much entirely missed 8th grade. I'd be amazed if I even attended a full 2 months of it. They passed me any way, a sign that they've given up. Not that I mind. Unfortuntely (kind of) I moved, so now the school system is all retarded. I missed the first two months of school, and sent me to a rehab place for missed school. That is the reason I missed the CAL-i finals etc. I now go to school, and I am a freshman. I do well in it, but I sure don't enjoy it. The only reason I go is because if I don't, they'll send me to a residential placement. Fun. I'm beginning to doubt that I will survive 3 1/2 more years of this...

They don't try to put bugs in the game. It's not like betas are a scavenger hunt to see who can find all the funny little bugs in the game. If there are bugs that they know exist then they're not going to just release it and sip on a cappuccino on the patio of their summer cottages in Venice Beach while 40 people crash because they tried to jump through the door running backwards with nightvision goggles.

oh well, it was expected. valve never promised anything. the only thing i would like to see different is valve letting us know sooner that they werent going to hit the date. im sure everyone would appreciate knowing rather than looking forward to dissapointment.Comment
