Re: PKM vs MG36 My Opinion
I'll take a stab at a few of these for you:
1) That was one of my major points. People talk about sniping with the PKM. Honestly, any other gun in the game except shotguns or the mp5 are going to snipe a lot better
2) I, too, am very disappointed that the 3-round burst mode of the MG36 is not noticeably more accurate than the full-auto. Are they trying to insult us and say we don't know how to stop firing after 3 rounds?
4) Killing in less rounds does give them less time to react, but so does hitting them 25% faster. If any support gunner has you at mid-rang in their sights you're pretty screwed no matter what.
5) They both have the same size clip. I definately see where you;re coming from saying that you run out of ammo faster on the MG36 because of it's increased ROF. However, it's reload time is SO much shorter. I find I die all the time when I'm reloading the PKM. The other thing I like about the MG36 is when you kill someone and the medic revives them, the PKM can overheat at the worst possible time. With the MG36 I never have to worry about my gun overheating when I'm taking outmultiple enemies.
6) I don't preach about 3-round burst at all. If anything I talk about firing constantly if you read the whole post. Maybe I'm a bad shot (though I doubt that) but I find I overheat all the time with the PKM if I'm not careful. I kill one enemy and another comes, so I keep firing, then a third comes, then a humvee, but wait, I've overheated already.
7) I think either I miscommunicated or you misread. When I talked about reloading while sprinting (obviously I know you can do it or I wouldn't have included it) I meant that with the shorter reload time you can reload the MG36 and be ready to go by the time you're done sprinting; with the more than 6sec reload time the PKM cannot do this.
Hope this helps clarify my review here.
