fire mode does not affect damage. MG36's damage would always be 30, not enough for a headshot kill.

ignore those classifications. They said G3 has high accuracy, in reality it has an accuracy worse than AK.

What happens when you're on SAS, USMC or SEALs and you don't gotta RPK then? They're all good if you know how to use em. The thing the PKM has over the RPK though is the report blast when firing the PKM is way smaller than the RPK and it's easier to aim at targets further away on certain maps that enemies blend into better. Oh and PKM is fired in 2 round burst btw.

sorry if I'm wrong and you have another account (if so please post it) but YOU DON'T HAVE A SINGLE MINUTE PLAYING ON AN SF MAP. How can you know so well whether the MG36 is better than the Vanilla BF2 LMGs when you don't even have it unlocked???

edit: meant to post this like 10 hours ago...he has half an hour on SF now!!!

Thanks for the info Lazy8s. MG36 will be my next unlock. I've got PKM now and love it, but I really like the short burst squirt-gun effect with the MG36. There have been times where I've downed a whole squad that was coming at me before they even knew where I was. The MG36 can be wicked!

Yes, if it hits what you're aiming at..

the biggest advantage PKM has over other lmg is that the first bullet is VERY accurate.. I've sniped people from 200m ingame with PKM and I stand by my previous statement.

For the very reason of that first bullet I use PKM, otherwise I wouldnt hesitate to switch to MG36.

I could tell you that I bought SF on tuesday to get the unlocks and before that played on a friend's account, but my brother can't afford the x-pak so all I play is vanilla. I could tell you that I have played 3 rounds on my copy of SF to get us the unlocks but nothing else. I could tell you to learn to do your research before you talk. I could post a screenshot of my unlocked MG36, but I won't. All of those would be an affirmation that you're not intelligent enough to think for yourself. So please, do yourself a favor and think for yourself and be absolutely sure before you take all your credibility out of your character bashing.

EDIT: Even if I hadn't played with the MG36 (though if I didn't have it how would I have made those videos?) how does that change the situation? The facts are the facts. It fires faster, is numerically more accurate, and can fire considerably longer than the PKM. This review (minus the SS and vids) could have been made by anyone, even if they didn't own the game. Number crunching can be done for anyone.


On a side note, has anyone else noticed the title is called "PKM vs MG36 My Opinion"? I gave my opinion and backed it up by facts. Some of the PKM users have changed their mind, some have defended the PKM with no numbers or proof, and a couple have taken to character bashing. I really hope to keep this positive and I have more videos/screen shots for when I have time so keep looking for updates. If this continues to go over well (yes, I consider getting flamed well. It means I spoke truly enough to make them doubt what they thought was true) I may write this review on some more of the guns I enjoy.

Is that true that the MG36 cant kill with one shot (even with a damage of 30)because if it is the things must be unbeleaveably accurate . I went full on assault yesterday with it on sharaqi peninsular at the end of the round i came second got the silver star 36 kills 9 deaths and i was shoting at enemy units at all ranges and taning there arse. The only reason i didnt get the gold star was because a mate of mine was commander.

EDIT: does anyone know how to open the config files in the game For the mg36 i want to see the full figure on everything compared to the PKM

I have taken a liking to the PKM recently. I have unlocked both the PKM and the MG36 and like both but I feel (i.e. can't prove) that the PKM is more useful in scaring off enemy choppers and chewing up enemy jeeps...
