I question the existance of the bipods, considering you cannot use them .

Re: PKM vs MG36 My Opinion

PHPT- Yeah my accuracy sux cause I love to spray like a madman. I shoot at everything, planes, helos, troops, humvees, tanks. I figure I have unlimited ammo, what other class can say that? Why the heck not use it especially when that mg36 chews through rounds so fast. Also, I like to fire full auto at targets long range that I know I cannot hit because it makes them run the other direction. Likewise if I see someone prone on karkand or sharqui around a corner I lay into the corner in front of them. Not only might I kill them but they and their friends are going to think 3 or 4 times before coming around the corner. I could get my accuracy higher but honestly, I just love firing my LMG. :p

govedob- Amen to that. The 3-round burst on the MG36 will almost always hit with 1 of the 3 rounds when you're prone. The G36E (arguably one of the most overpowered and certainly overplayed) fires 3-round bursts and only hits with 1 out of 3 rounds. The difference? We get 100 rounds per clip. While I don't like to snipe with the mg36, well I don't like to snipe at all actually, It's certainly a nice weapon to snipe with. 100 rounds per clip and you never have to reload. Worst case scenario you get a ton of kill damage assists.

Ya, all it does is increase the 'take-out' time of the gun, that's why i always lose to G36C guys when they pop around the corner and i'm nading a position, i can't change to my MG36 fast enough to kill em.

first, bipod increases accuracy when you use them (e,g, laying down on the ground)

second, I never had problem taking out G36C er at close range even if they had the first shot. I always laugh at how weak their gun is. I guess MG30's 30 damage vs. G36C's 25 damage doesn't give you enough advantage.

Oh yeah, in 3 round burst mode, the fire rate of MG36 is so undermined that it becomes vastly inferior to PKM.

Well, it doesn't LOOK like the bipod increases accuracy at all, considering, even if ur standing up, u still have the bipod deployed, it's just a visual effect. Also, the number of bullets the G36C takes to kill someone is the same as the MG36, but, since u have armor, i guess u have the advantage. Anyways, my mistake when i said MG36, i meant the PKM, it has a SUPER LONG takeout time.

Yea - I wouldn't bother with 3RB. For whatever minimal accuracy it adds, you can usually get as many, if not more, hits by just flooding the area on full auto. And the MG36 takes so long to overheat, there's little risk in FA.

Ya, everytime i try 3RB, i get myself killed EASILY, cause it's not like the M16/G36E that have a high rate of fire.

No, you can have bipods out in real life all you want, but while you are standing, it doesn't add accuracy. ONLY if the bipod touches some solid ground (i.e, proning down) will it increase accuracy, which it does in game.

ANd plus, the deployment in DOD is unrealistic, because in real life, the accuracy boost is gained as soon as you get down.

Ya, i know, but it's just insignificant that u have to increase ur take out time by doing that, i would rather have a deploy bipod button, cause i don't like the increased take out time.

How would that work... right click to deploy? How would you zoom in? Unless you're talking about the function being having the same activation as say.. switching firing modes (which presents a problem for MG36 anyway) I cant see a practical application for your idea.

Suffice to say, I'd rather lose mobility, if it meant I'd gain a lot more accuracy and stability (read: DoD and its deploy function prevent you from moving.)

I think the bipod would be cool. It could be bound to a key on the keyboard. Someone suggested you should be able to mount your machine gun on the ground and let someone else fire it while you resupply them. It's not very practical but it would be kinda funny.

personally i find it hard to believe that the pkm can be outplayed, but those statistics don't lie...im going to have to pick the mg36 up in one of my next unlocks.

Nice post, with usefull details. I never really use support don't really like the PKM, wish I took the DAO-12 instead.

I would love to see more deployable bi-pods. It worked so well in games like DoD. The bren gun was my favourite.

                                As for PKM vs MG36

I'll take the PKM for now. I'll keeep my opinions open though for when 1.2 eventually hits the web.
