I love the support class and i think the Mg36 is the Best gun in the entire game. It is so much more accurate than the PKM. If im shooting at a guy at medium range and often even farther at full-auto, 7 out of 10 times i will kill him, from full health. It is an amasing gun and i think that if anyone is saving an unlock for a good gun, U HAVE TO GET THIS GUN!

I think if you're looking for an unlock and you got the PKM and didn't like it this gun is well worth the unlock. If you have the PKM and swear by it already the MG36 is definately different. It may be worth unlocking something else first for 2 reasons:
1) You don't know what you're missing till you try it
2) You may be a PKM kind of guy
As wierd as it sounds I was in love with the PKM and had I never unlocked the MG36 I would have never known what I was missing and I would have always loved the PKM. I am extremely happy that I did unlock the gun now and I have real trouble going back. I rate this 2nd only to the DAO-12 because the MP5 to the DAO I think is the biggest upgrade in the game. I hate that stupid MP5.

How would that work... right click to deploy? How would you zoom in? Unless you're talking about the function being having the same activation as say.. switching firing modes (which presents a problem for MG36 anyway) I cant see a practical application for your idea.

Suffice to say, I'd rather lose mobility, if it meant I'd gain a lot more accuracy and stability (read: DoD and its deploy function prevent you from moving.)

You could bound it to an unused key, like the 'C' key, since it's not used.

Every single unlock is worth it, they all have something unique that distinguishes them from the others. It's a matter of learning to master that specific weapon. For a long time I thought that the mp7 is worthless, not a match for even the basic shotgun, leave alone the jackhammer. But when I tried using it for few days I was surprised how good it can do in certain situations, even though lacks the punch. For one thing the range is a lot better than on the rest of the engineer weapons and you can actually kill something from further than just 10 feet. Hack with it, even the basic pistol is a good weapon, it has saved my life many times when I've ran out of bullets and it was a life decision to switch to it within 0.8 seconds or spend 4,5 seconds reloading the main weapon.

Lol yeah, coming from CS switching to pistol is so natural to me. I love watching people run out of ammo and reload like they have no other weapons, especially noob tubers when they miss.

Great post! I like the PKM more for one reason- It does more damage to attack copters- I 've shot lots of them down (that were that were already dmaged of course) the 36 is a great weapon though- You can get in a zone with it really quick

The PKM does more dmg per shot to a chopper but the MG36 fires more quickly. I can definately see where you're coming from though. For some reason I seem to shoot people out of the side of blackhawks all of the time with the MG36. I think the biggest problem is that support gunners don't know they can take the choppers down or don't think the damage is worthwhile so they don't ever try.

One prob, i tested this myself, it takes 5x100 round belts from a PKM to destroy a blackhawk, it's true. I wouldn't try taking down a heli with a LMG unless it was smoking, cause the mounted .50 cal is SO much more effective.

Yeah, you won't do it alone but you can do enough to counter-act an engineer or 2. Also, you'd be suprised how many people you will shoot out of the side.
