I have yet to see a valid argument against the prone diving accuracy penalty as a whole.

I don't mind a prone accuracy deviation. Worked in 2142 why not in BF2. People will just crouch to shoot instead of going prone.

The problem with crouch is that you lower your head and if enemy is aiming at your body he will be hitting your head which is not good :)

If they introduced this prone penalty maybe they should have added some kind of dodge moves like in UT but then again there would be accuracy delays.

Just terrible. Support will suffer a lot due to this "fix".

GTFO. You fail. All of your reasons for support "Suffering" Have been debunked. Game over man. Game over. Support will be fine, they have this little thing called crouch. You should try it sometime.

The truth is a hard thing to refute, he realizes he has no argument anymore, so instead of promoting new information to support his point he has decided to degrade into "leet" speak . A true spokesman for his generation. And on a side note, I will gloat about working at EA :) What have you done lately ?

Is the accuracy penalty going to ruin support? No. Will it make it weaker in certain situations? Yes. Look at the way support's LMG is used in 2142. That's the way support in BF2 will be going, bar the reverse deviation, which will only encourage people to fire in bursts for accurate shots.

Everyone needs to chill out here. We're sick of dealing with the constant flame wars and personal attacks that have been going on in the BF section as of late. Either shape up and learn to respect one another or we're going to start banning some people. Now let's stay on topic and keep the personal attacks to a minimum please. You've been warned.

I still say this is completely the wrong move, guns should shoot where you aim them, at all times! There is no wild deviation that makes bullets not go where you are pointing the gun, IRL. Im not saying the status quo should stay as is.. Just this is the wrong solution by a mile!

Again i suggest improving the accuracy of weapons when not prone so they atleast compete with prone adversaries. Because thats the real problem, theres a ridiculous accuracy difference between the different positions.

2 guys shoot at eachother at the same time, one goes prone and the other doesnt, he crouches or stays standing. The guy who doesnt prone doesnt land a single bullet and the guy whos prone hits with them all. Doesnt anyone else see this as obvious?

But, in real life it takes a good 2-3 seconds to get a proper aim from standing to prone, I know because I have shot an SA-80 a fair few times in different positions.

What takes time is physically assuming the position. There are set firing positions, then finding the scope and focusing your eye. It takes longer to fire if your rifle has a magnified scope (such as the SA-80's (L85A2) SUSAT) as your eye doesn't naturally focus properly on the target. Ironsights are easier, but you're damn unlucky if you get issued that :p

Will be nice as us British are getting reflex and ACOG scopes to replace the SUSAT's soon :)

This can't be emulated in the game due to the physics, so a deviation fills this role.

I agree actually, a short delay or even an inability to fire during changing positions would be ok. But i still say the inaccuracy of the weapons between positions is also a huge part of the problem.

Seriously, if you dont prone you cant hit the target with half the ammo you fire, no matter how long you aim or wait or whatever.

I know i wouldnt have a problem killing divers if my bullets actually hit what i was aiming at.. The current situation forces people to go prone, even if they dont want to.

On topic then, I'd be sceptical too if it wasn't for the fact that it works great in 2142. I don't think it will ruin BF2 in any way, some people will obviously not like it but I think it's a good change.
