That's great, except that the prone deviation penalty was first in BF1942, then again in BF:Vietnam, and finally in BF2142. While BF2142 and BF:V weren't as popular, respectively, as BF2 and BF1942, people still got on just fine without having to instantly bellyflop at the mere sight of an enemy. They were still able to assault flags, kill enemies, etc. Crouch is meant for a small quick boost in accuracy, prone is meant for defense or supporting fire, not as a frontline tactic. Support players travel behind assault players, go prone while the gunfight erupts, and within a couple seconds are able to fire at full accuracy. People won't be assaulting with LMGs, because they shouldn't be. I seriously don't see how this will destroy the game like some (albeit very few) people are leading on.

It will be comedy gold to be online the first day or two of the patch when people who are hard-wired into pressing Z to begin any fight all of a sudden won't be able to hit jack after flopping. Just reading the chats would be priceless.

            hah, no it hasn't

whatever is implemented in this patch for vBF2 will be tweaked for PR to be even more punishing.

people complaining should be thankful they don't implement the breathing motion of your aim sites that's in BF2142.

Bring it on, loved that feature of 2142, *sigh/exhales* rhythm, bang!

Don't bring up 2142, reminds me how backward BF2 is. Fubar sais copy/paste code to compensate! Boo-ya!

My apologise I had not realised this at all. And i had played BF1942 a lot even during my bf2 time o.o.

Anyway I do not believe this will destroy the game, but I feel it will have a negative impact. At minimum people should be allowed to shoot whilst in the air to compensate. But I am hopeful there will be another vote on the subject. And then we will see what the people really want after a trial of it.

Your opinion on prone maybe correct, however I feel this is far too limiting on an already disadvantageous class. Support is one of the most limited classes for needing to be static to use a main gun. Or alternatively can use a pistol which sets in a major disadvantage.
Not only this, if a class is forced to play with crouch in a 1v1 situation, they are more likely to loose than previously. Before they had it rough against a dolphin diver, now I believe they will find it harder. They become a sitting duck, like before, but twice the size.

However because support is the only class you see bullet tracer, you can see where the shots are comming from. The support class must be static when shooting. And thus he is still a sitting duck for support fire. (this hasn't changed but it was not as effective as one might think). And so with the supports main advantage gone, and their use of support is not so effective anyway, the class is much less effective.

In patch 1.41 it was not at the top of the most effective classes anyway, now I would put it very near the bottom. Sorry to all support classes, may need to find a new class to play.

That's your fault if you use the SUPPORT class as ASSAULT. Wrong way around mate. Support is meant to be fired prone. Therefore, you will have to go prone. But if you do, you'll lose accuracy THEREFORE go prone ahead of time in a defensible area, just like you should according to the name of the class.

This is not only more realistic but will help tame the floating G36 medicores.

So support has to be aboslute **** class to make up for you guys not liking dolphin divers lol. Nice.

Your argument is terrible. Support is meant to be fired prone, that is about all that is correct in this post. Clearly tell you never play support and lack any knowledge of the class. So why comment? If you have no clue? Why waste everyones time?

I think support needs a minor buff to make up for the lack of instaprone accuracy, the sights should be made more useful by decreasing the time it takes to get full accuracy while sighted. Or something like that.

How it was meant to be played and how it is actually played are two completely different things.

You'd be a lot more persuading if you treated people with respect.

However they nerf it we will all overcome and adjust our gameplay .

I can see why they have done it as some of the macros I see medics use are just unreal , they are prone and sighted on you in mid air . Add a small delay into this and you shold beat anyone if you are prone already .

Just please dont nerf by RPK ,, please .
