On that note, I got a problem that I hope someone can help me with. I got the BF 2 demo many months ago and decided to get the retail later. Since I had all my settings how I liked them in the demo a BF 2 vet suggested that I switch the options file between the two, so I did. Ever since, no matter what key I try and set up as crouch, I can't get it to work. So now I have played to something like 6500 global score without the use of a crouch and it's finally driving me crazy.
I really don't want to reinstall the game, can anyone tell me how I can fix this? I don't even remember the file I switched.

You can either open controls.con and look for the section marked crouch and delete it, or go in-game, clear the buttons for crouch, quit and restart the game (a PITA, I know), and then assign a key to crouch.

With the prone accuracy reduction and the improved hitboxes, is there any chance DICE could get rid of the spazzing when you stand up from prone?

What about only letting throwable items be fired while jumping, like 2142? I'm sure the devs could find their way around any engine problems. :p

Oh this game is going to get a whole lot more boring now.

Why? Just why? Guns are already inaccurate enough. Taking away prone like this will just ruin deserved kills.

I can see this is targetting the older generation who do not have the energy to play a fast paced game. My goodness lol. Absolutely terrible. I am just shocked lol... Losers should learn to play the game rather than change the game. My goodness, next it will be auto lock rocket launcher because people are so noob they cannot learn to aim. So terrible. Copy a game which is half as popular as BF2 in the hope it will improve a more popular game. There is a reason many people think BF2142 is terrible, this contributes to it. Aweful, just aweful. This game will not need a keyboard soon, play with two buttons on the side of the mouse, forward and back. lol. Its getting to the point of it being just an aiming game. Just shocked, its terrible.

I only hope that these new hitboxes will be enough to counter the gun's inaccuracy so that this will not be too harmful.

DICE: You MUST allow shooting whilst jumping to make up for this atrocity.

Teh noez, now they removed the prone spam and dared to make the guns actually hit where one aims at ... how could they?!

But yes, I do think that the throwable items like grenades and ammo packs should be able to be thrown while jumping, and that the stand up delay should be removed.

Ohh my goodness why do dice listen to these people. They cant keep up with the game as they risk a heart attack, and so they must change the game lol.

If this is meant to prevent dolphin diving it is far more detrimental than this. What is support class meant to do with this? They will be a sitting duck because what is left for them??

Crouch. That is all a support can do with his main gun. All other classes can move and shoot or crouch. Support can simply crouch. This produces an imbalance in the classes.

Other games such as cod4 do not make the guns inaccurate when using prone. Why would you make a change to a game which is one of the leading infantry games lol.

I r confused. So when you going prone you get more accuracy but when you first drop you lose a little ?

I hate them damn instant prone whores. Everytime i see someone and go head shot they tuck and roll !
