People that are any good in a tank would blast a jeep before it got close.

Depends on what kind of vehicle you're talking about. Hummer and Vodnik aren't so bad because at least they're a little slower and thus less effected by the laggy hitbox bugs in BF2. On Jalalabad for example that map is unplayable in a tank usually because of the massive number of jihaders cruising around in the ultra small, ultra maneuverable and ultra fast DPV. You can hit that thing on your screen with a tank shell perfectly and 90% of the time the hit fails to register because of the lag in the target hitbox. About the only way to stop a jihader in a DPV or similar vehicle is to hope they're stupid enough to come straight at you thus bypassing the hitbox lag problem and/or allowing you to machine gun them out of the seat.

Just to see how easy it was I once jihaded on the new Jalalabad map and over the 15 minute round I killed 15 tanks and this was various tank drivers all of which were high ranking players. They didn't stand a chance as I cruised in on them head on swerving at break-neck speeds, immune to tank shells and impossible to counter. Thats roughly one tank killed a minute and a feat that's impossible for even the most godlike amazingly skilled AT player.

eh, maybe 20 hours, but the fun is in the air, sorry. If the infantry fighting was better, I'd play a little more on the ground, but its not. Buggy feel, prone/standing delays...ugh. This is no counterstrike thats for sure.

Please stop blaming your cowardice on time zones. It was early morning in the states and that'd put it smack dab in the late afternoon in the Europe. You said in three hours I said OK and you never showed. If it looks like a duck, smells like a duck and sounds like a duck it's probably a duck.

Yep to pay for my internet I go to work and sometimes after that on a Friday which is when it was instead of BF2 I like beer and dancing.

What is wrong with some people, they seem to forget why they play?!
It's all for having fun! You virtually kill other people and try to avoid as much as possible to get killed in the process, for fun!
You have some means of doing it, different weapons according to your kit of choice. Anything you do with these is ok. Of course, it’s not ok for the dead person.
If a jeep is coming at my tank, I simply try to kill it. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don't. What's the bid deal?! :p
If I always kill the other guy, is not fun for him anymore, so he'll just leave. Nobody wants that. Look at the other guy as your friend. You are entertaining yourselves on the same battlefield. It's no need to be rude and call him names.
If you have a high KDR, that means you are less fun to play with. If the other one can't kill you back, he's going to avoid you. Why play with a sour 'killer'?!
Skill at killing is meaningless. It doesn't provide more fun to all players. Just to an egotistical person. Skills at driving the vehicles for more than one man or commanding others, these are the skills that really matters and bring joy to more than one person.
Calling everything that kills you an exploit makes you look at least weird.
This reminds me of Blue Collar comedy:

So... planes are sploitz, grenades are sploitz, tanks are sploitz, the AK101 is a sploit... ok, I'm being facecious, since these are units in the game, while Jihading is a combination of multiple factors that DICE couldn't predict (despite ads for the game SHOWING jihading). And, as you said ealier, the J10 is okay because there was no other viable air attack method. So, let's set up our hypothetical:

1.) There are two tanks, both with good drivers, stationed on a nice solid raping spot, say... on the level part of the street above the Karkand train wreck. These two tanks are both crewed with engineers, with medics in the top turrets. There are handfuls of squads running around, repairing and protecting the tanks. The tanks have a moving pattern of rolling forward, shelling the spawn/bridge, and falling back behind the ledge/cover to repair. The commander has three supply crates stacked around HIS tank. (And yes, I have seen this scenario multiple times.)

2.) C4 traps will not work, as the enemy does not advance, content to hold the line and blast with ranged firepower/arty.

3.) AT cannot kill the tank. Due to the sheer volume of repairing, any less than four rockets striking simultaneously WILL NOT kill the tank, never mind the coordination required on a pub to pull that off (HAH!). Furthermore, when AT dies, the rocket misses, and the enemy is focus firing on AT soldiers. Lastly, as soon as hit ONCE, the tanks will swap roles, and the damaged one will repair fully.

4.) Commander's artillery is down.

5.) All in all, the team is boned, cornered, and being fisted. So a player chucks some C4 onto a vod, rolls around the long way, and makes some tanker's day. All of a sudden, there's pandemonium, and the seige is broken.

Rare, but it does happen. By your logic, the jihad would be okay, as it was the only viable AT role. So, Jihading is allowed, OR anything that could defeat a better player is disallowed, thus leaving us playing PONG.

And now the reference to cheating will come. There is not a "fine and blurry" line between cheating/sploiting and using the game mechanics legitimately and creatively. Sploiting is breaking the code, popping into level glitches, provoking breakdowns in game mechanics that were not programmed into the system. Cheating is outright violation of the code, changing it to suit yourself.

Jihading is neither. C4 goes on cars just fine. Cars move. Battlefield claims to be a sandbox, where you put together tools to find new things. This is what this is... A+B=C. Jihading is EXACTLY what the sandbox was designed to produce, an innovative, in-game, non-exploitative tactic solution to a problem (being raped by armor).

Now, you can call things lame, and some of these tactics certainly are. I for one, find nothing as infuriating as bunny-hoppers and grenade spammers. However, these are not sploitz or cheating, these are simply tactics I have to deal with. Now, people complain about some things which grow unbalanced (tube-spamming/air rape/hopping), and if it's severe enough, DICE will introduce a fix, by either nerfing the offender (tube/hopping/C4) or buffing a counter (better AA). This is not due to sploitz, but due to imbalance produced emergently by the sandbox.

If you take your argument to it's logical conclusion, all tactics that give an advantage (camping, grenading, flying a plane, etc) would be considered sploitz, and we'd be fighting with nerf guns in a padded room. Again, this is not in favor or code-violating cheats/sploitz, but in defense of legitimate sandbox solutions (firing AT rocket into slow moving jet/ jihading / jumping onto a roof you couldn't otherwise get to from a vodnik). If the tactic is unbalanced enough, DICE would do something, such as giving the tank more protection from C4 not planted on its surface, or underneath it.

And finally, on a personal note, when I do drive a tank, and I see some jeep flying at me, I slam into reverse and blast the ground near him. Despite my limitted time, I can kill them 50% of the time, and when they get me, I laugh. Why? Because it's funny.

And no, I don't often do it. I do sometimes, because it's funny, or when it's the only viable means, but most often, I prefer to AT rocket. And when I see some jeep whiz by, loaded with red skulls, I chuckle, because some tank that's busy pounding a squad to pieces is about to meet the business end of what he's dealing out, the paper to his rock (and the squad would be the scissors).

EDIT: An extrapolation and question that defines the problem with jihading being sploitz:

Are any of these sploitz? (When you are killed by: )
-A parked car laden with c4.
-A recently parked car laden with c4.
-A car that stops right in front of you, laden with c4.
-A moving car laden with c4.

Where is the line? Why are some wrong and others right?

EDIT2: To define between a real line, sploitz and non-sploitz.

-Jumping from a vodnik onto a roof you couldn't otherwise reach.
-Jumping out of a vodnik into a building you couldn't otherwise access (hotel glitch).

Example One is perfectly fine. You are supposed to go ontop of buildings (game code). It can be annoying, it can be cheap, but you only really gain the advantage of surprise.

Example Two is an exploit. You are not supposed to get into the hotel... ever. The code is written so you cannot get in. Once in, you are in a level glitch, able to fire out without being hit. You gain invincibility.

Now, the advantages are nice, but the true difference is in the code. Ex2 deliberately circumvents the coding of the game to produce an aberrant result, breaking the game. Ex1 merely produces an emergent result, and thus is completely legal.

Me too, I had a great deal of respect. Not any more, though.
Anyone hurting other people's feelings if they disagree, is not a worthy human being. I feel sad for such a person.

"jihad jeep" I call them IED's and have seen them since POE for BFV. And yes when I see one with a pack on each tire and they are spinning mad down the road. I chuckle. It looks funny and I know some tanker is gonna be cursing in chat real soon.
