DICE themselves has said that C4 Jeep Jihading is an unintended exploit of C4 that they cannot fix and it is understandable why. This is why they made the no-jihad ROE. It's all balance as C4 is very powerful yet it has a limited range and slow deployement, however the jeep jihad breaks this balance by increasing the speed and range on C4.

For example DICE wants C4 to stick to enemy vehicles should you thow it on them in a legitimate fashion and nerfing jeep jihading would nerf this valid use of C4 and thus the conflict.

That being said Jeep Jihad is 1) unskilled 2) exploits a broken game dynamic 3) exploits the horrible netcode in BF2 when a tank/APC attempts to defend themself versus a fast moving vehicle and even though they hit the vehicle on their screen it remains undamaged because of hitbox issues 4) the jihaders deprive their own team of valuable transport vehicles needed to get around and in general are a negative force on the server.

In conclusion if you have to resort to an exploit of a broken game mechanic (jihad) to kill a tank or APC you are n00b of the lowest order. Plenty of legitimate and effective methods exisit to kill armor including C4 tossing, C4 traps, AT mines, other armored vehicles, helicopters, airplane, artillery, AT rockets and of course stationary TOW missiles.

I really don't use tanks too often but there is something that I find hilarious about people using Jihad Jeeps to take out tanks.

I don't think Jihad jeeping is all that much trouble, i do it on occaison, if there is armour spawn camping (esp on karkand) then i think it's perfectly fair to do it.

Plus it winds up the armour whores no end, which is great fun!

It is annoying if you are down to one or two flags left, and some idiot is throwing C4 on the only vehicle left for the team, but at the start of karkand, I used to love c4ing up the jeep as MEC, and driving up the left corridor, round the corner to slam straight into pretty much all of the enemy armour.

I had an awesome round of Jihad 4-wheelering on Warlord this weekend. I got to the game in time to see the resident armor guy rack up a score of like 120 with all these kills in his tank so when the next round started I figured I would set out to ruin his day and put C4 on the 4-wheeler at the hideout. I drove down the ramp as he came up in and blew his tank to bits. I died in the process (on purpose) and respawned at the same spot and did the same thing. I blew this tank whore up probably 15 times. He never went a different way, and always called me a nasty name when he got blown up. I dont know why he never learned his lesson. lol

I usually agree with most of your posts PW but this reponse was uncalled for. Using C4 on jeeps is not against the ROE. It is under the section of what server owner rules can and cant enforce. As long as its not against the server rules I will use this tactic. What you see as cheap and an exploit I see as a very effective tatic against armor. Just like the J-10, Dice didnt intend on making it the way it is yet people still fight over it. Maybe server owners should ban the use of the J-10 because some could consider using it an exploit in its current state.
