Re: PlaneWhore's top 4 BF2 changes that need to be in the 1.5 patch
Nice excuse. I play the game normally, I'm a good player and good statistics are the result. Being obsessed about statistics doesn't automatically make them good.
Glad you see my point. In regards to S2A: you point it in the general direction of the plane (huge lock zone no skill required), wait a second for a lock, click twice and the plane dies or gets badly wounded. What more could you want? How about a 500% range increase and one shot capability? Will that make you happy?
As one of the best airplane pilots with plenty of experience I know first hand how deadly accurate S2A is in 1.4. The only real counter to S2A is to be careful and kill them before they can launch their payload. However that little strategy fails when you are going up against a S2A user who isn't an idiot and doesn't hop in the S2A till you're flying away from them.
Sure. Draw me a picture of how you flank the players sitting up in the sandbags near Hotel in USMC spamming grenades for easy 100 point rounds. It's easy to say "flank them" but it's not so easy to turn that simple statement in to a reality. If you're attempting to flank a heavily guarded area like USMC chances are you'll die the second you get near either hill. If you do manage to get to the sandbags the walk alone would've taken a minute or two and at that point it would've been a waste of time. And even if you did manage to kill the spammers they'll simply respawn while you're busy getting overrun and start all over again. You have stopped nothing and you have wasted valuable tickets and manpower in the process. This isn't strictly a Karkand scenario because the same sort of "takes too long" or "too dangerous" applies to just about every single map. In short dynamic flanking as mentioned above is a completely uneffective and unrealistic in Battlefield 2.
Are you trying to sink your own ship Batausu? You pointed out how I exploit exists and I pointed out how easy it is to fix an exploit while leaving intended function of grenades, claymores and the tube unharmed.
Actually the best defense is a tank, APC or another (better) full squad of medics. Which is one great arguement against the poor gameplay design that is IO. Class balance is a seperate issue and I agree medics are the most powerful class in the game and the other classes could all use a slight bump to equalize the balance of power.
Grenades are the anti-medic? No. Medics handle grenades better than any other class because they can revive their fallen squadmates (by grenades) and move away from the spam field, or heal any damage they have taken via grenades while on the move thus rendering the grenades useless.
No in fact grenades are a good thing for a point obsessed medics. They provide lots of corpses for easy revive points. In fact the grenade + shock paddle + IO mode + Karkand combination is the fastest and easiest way to get points in the game.
I told you my motivation before and if you don't believe it then fine but don't make me repeat myself. I want people to stop spamming grenades at random and start using them in an intelligent fashion. The end result of such a balance adjustment will improve the quality of the infantry gameplay for ALL players (after the spammers adjust). Of course the immediate result of such a gameplay style shift for the players who used to rely on grenade /claymore spam now actually have to rely on their rifle to do the majority of the killing. I find this scenario hillarious and in such an event I'd relish picking these poor n00bs apart with my 36E like fish out of water.
