RoFL Oh Dear , The irony. Perhaps you could remove your sig then cos what's the point. Oh, you wanna look cool with it, ok lol.

Well let me repeat myself, they said they're going to continue support after bf2142 release. That is a fact and not forseen by the eye of god.

OH no please , the humanity, stop with all these threads. I've only seen 1 thread for 1.5 patch but fine, babble away

EDIT: Ok there is one more thread for 1.5. I guess you wanna prevent more. Keep on throlling, good boy.

I think my balanced Battlefield 2 gameplay style and game experience gives my opinion more weight than most (especially trolls like you). Yes I said balanced gameplay style and that includes exceptional ground pounding that allows me to go 90+ points every round as infantry. Best of all when I play infantry I don't spam claymores or grenades or the tube like so many other n00bs and about 95% of my kills come from my RIFLE. What a concept, infantry using the rifle!

Of course I still use grenades but unlike many when I throw my grenade I have a specific target I'm aiming for. I want to watch the people who rely on easy, exploitable and RANDOM grenade and claymore kills to curl in to a little ball and cry when they're forced to use their rifle for a change. That'll be the day.

Re: PlaneWhore's top 4 BF2 changes that need to be in the 1.5 patch

i argree with op on the subject of using a rifle more and the skill involved using it to a degree.

but like mentioned deviation takes away skill and gives you more luck.

i have used all the weapons in the game to some extent but i find if you try to gain good accuracy by laying prone and firing 1 shot burst,

you are more comanly going to die 1st unless you get a headshot in.

the weapons dont represent any skill in my eyes, its more luck with a assualt rifle.

thats why i chose to master sniping in bf2 for a few reasons.

          1.i have no armor

2.up close i have my pistol and knife to defend myself.

          3.rarly get extra ammo

4.i cant unrealisticly heal myself from a majic bag

          5.cant supply myself with ammo,with a majic ammobag :)

6.hiting a headshot from 300m+ is sweet and needs skill

7.due to l96a1 low deviation it kind of feels a bit more realistic to me

there probaly a few more but 7 is enought for now.

          scenario.....

we the bf2 community all decide to start a new account and use pistol/knife/rifle only

          we make 2 accounts

          1.medic

          2.assualt

now we all no medic is assualt ,but i bet the medic kit get a better kdr than the real assualt account, due to self heal and a better 2 tier unlock(g36c)

we could argue all day that assualt has armor but in a reallife situation (if it was possible)

we would swap kelvar bodyarmor for a majic self heal bag :)

i never played bf2 for ultra realism and skill,i played it for the fun aspect, the big *** maps and the sniping.

when i want to play a game based on real skill with a rifle i play AA(america's army)

when i want to improve my reflexes i play 3wave(q3mod) you have around 0.5 seconds to react of you get railed :)

mixing 3wave and AA kind of helps my bf2 gameplay.

im looking forward to the new flashpoint game (armed assualt i think)

i enjoyed the realism in the old flashpoint games.

my kdr on bf2 is probaly average to good but i dont play alot, due to comitment.

however if i had 4 hours of more a day to practice i think i could get 2.5 to 3 kdr with a few kits that are not sniper :)

Please tell me what's wrong with me being in a tank or jet? If doing well a tank or jet was easy I'd have stopped using them by now.

These powerful vehicles are limited to about 2 per map depending on the map and admittedly they are powerful but they can also be countered easily. Not only that but they take a lot of skill to use well. This is showcased by the abysmal statistics the average player has in the tank or jet (KPM, SPM, and KDR).

However an unlimited number of schmucks can spawn up with a support kit toss nades (which takes zero skill) and end a round of Karkand/Sharqi/Mashtuur/Jalalabad ect.. with over 40 or 50 kills in a 64 player game lasting no more than 15 minutes.

I'm absolutely convinced that anyone who dislikes these game modifications only dislikes them because they exploit them themselves.

But jets are a different matter. Try to kill a jet using means available on the ground.
How many jets did you destroyed, when not flying? Any?!

Tossing grenades doesn't guarantee a kill. In fact if your opponent is smart, he avoids it and kills you 'with a rifle', because of the timings involved when throwing a grenade that let you defenseless.

Let me ask you this: how would you call 2 engineers driving 2 tanks close together?
Good players? Even if they are exploiting a so called 'feature' that allows an engineer to fight and magically do repairs in the same time? I have yet to see 2 exceptional pilots, both engineers, repairing in mid flight. You haven't thought of that, have you?!

Seems like you'd know better than me Batausu. I looked up your armor statistics and not surprisingly you manage both a pathetic SPM and a poor kill death ratio armor. Your aviator statistics are worse as if that was even possible. I'm not insulting you but merely pointing out that you yourself make my point for me.

But if you really want me to tell you.. when you play armor (or even aircraft) you are a large target that attracts lots of attention. When you're trying to kick arse and be effective having a lot of attention is typically a bad thing. Now attention isn't so bad for infantry because you can hide from such attention. But when you're playing armor you can't hide from this attention. When I'm in my in my tank I can't go prone behind those sandbags, I can't hide behind that tree and I most certainly can't climb that ladder on to that roof. I'm out in the street and I'll be on the street and since you know my location and potential locations avoiding me and or killing me is a piece of cake as long as you use your skull.

Does it matter how I've destroyed them? A counter is a counter. In my plane I've destroyed thousands of other aircraft. That was something noteworthy back in 1.12 but now in 1.4 shooting down an enemy aircraft is as easy as clicking a button. Shooting down aircraft is one of the easiest things to do in this game in 1.4 and as such pilots typically spend more time waiting for the aircraft to spawn then they actually do flying. In regards to S2A... the few times I've been in a situation where I can use the S2A versus a jet it's either damaged them severly or destroyed them outright and as such I don't really see what the problem with it si. But again I don't find many opporunities to shoot them aircraft down because even on a jet heavy map I hardly see them at all.

How do you kill a grenade spammer with a rifle when they're a 100 feet away behind a fence? You're right though tossing a single nade most certainly doesn't guarantee a kill on most maps but on the other hand I've never heard of anyone who has been killed or killed anyone by randomly shooting their rifle in to the air. But if a few of your teammates are doing the same thing you are over and over again the ground is absolutely blanketed with grenades and running from this handheld artillery is nothing short of impossible. So that leaves you with two options, retreat or die. If both players take up these "hang back and nade" philosophy then the round ends up turning in to a giant whore fest. Like it or not someone has to move forward and keep the game churning and it is those unfortunate souls playing the game correctly that suffer the worst damage from random grenade spam. If I sat back on a roof dropping claymores from the top of a tall building I probably wouldn't die to nade spam either. On the flip side my team wouldn't win any rounds either.

Exactly my point Batausu and exactly why I don't want grenades nerfed to uselessness. The thing that enables the exploiters you admit exist is a large stockpile of grenades and the potential for self-contained infinite ammo. I have no problem with people using grenades as intended but when they're used so frequently and successfully in a random unskilled fashion that is what pisses skilled players like me off. If I want to get 30 or 40 kills in a round with my rifle I better be on the freaking ball with beautiful flawless shooting but the same thing can be achieved by tossing grenades over a fence. With such an obviously flawed game dynamic in place you'd be a fool to argue otherwise.

Bad example Batausu. Yes it's a feature, it's balanced and it's intentional. The repair aura and engineer gives off isn't even fast enough to keep up with the damage from one anti-tank player aiming at the most armored location of a tank. If the aura had 100 foot radius and repaired 4 bars a second then I'd consider it a problem equal to that of grenade/claymore spam. Oh and this same feature still exists in 2142 in fact and it is a specific "high-tech" wrench upgrade you get to allow it to automatically repair with an aura - in other words.. intended.

I was playing the original Wolfenstein while you were still in diapers son.

About the valid point you failed to make:

Apples and oranges. The CS HE grenades cost money, are nowhere near as powerful as BF2 and have a hard limit. Just as importantly CS is a much brighter game and the grenade is larger and much eaiser to see.

Call of Duty, Day of Defeat are again all bad examples and both games have balancing points that make grenades nothing like BF2. But regardless what you think no other game allows you infinite grenades of the same potency found in Battlefield 2. You won't find any other game that allows you the same level of spam found in Battlefield 2 and for good reason.

And grenades were not intended? I pointed out how easy is to turn a feature into an exploit.
At this point I have to ask myself, why this hate against grenades? It's not even remotely as bad as you said. Walls of explosions, large areas of death, grenades raining everywhere… it must be a wonderful scene to watch from a distance.
Then I recall your hate towards IO.
What's the best defense against a squad full of medics? Yap, your guess is right: grenades. Let's reduce their number, so we are able to be invincible medics and score even more points. Could this be the real reason behind all these arguments on how overpowered grenades are?
