It works much the same way and probably has more powerful filters than ASE.

Actually you can't as it's an older version of Qtracker but if you really want to know how to get those filters than you'll find them in a post further up in this thread.

Re: The All-Seeing Eye is DEAD. Long live QTracker!

We should form a team with some people to write filters and guides and make mapshots. It will improve our experience with this program.

              EDIT:
              Ok then, I got a filters...my God...took me 4 hours...but the result is promising.

I adjusted the general algoritm, it works in any way you use it now.

I included all Classic, SF and EF maps, together with 1 custom map called Wake AirShow and a filter to find Other Custom maps. Let me know if it's worth including mapfilters per mod (I think it's not) or some more custom maps (let me know which).

Besides that it has about 30 mods included (all ASE ones and all I could find a server of), and a filter to find any other mods (if there are).

It's a massive filterset, but it cover all ASE had (expect Teams, because I really think that makes no sence) and MORE!

              Download:

Install them in your "...\Qtracker\Filters\Game\Battlefield 2\" folder.

Yeah, the QTracker update was released late last night and it supports servers that have and haven't been rebooted When will DICE learn?

Qtracker is an Internet/LAN game and MP3 server browser. If you want to find places to play your favorite games, look no further. You can also use Qtracker to administer your game servers, and generate HTML or PHP server listings.

                Battlefield 2 v1.3 & Qtracker v4.22 May 26th, 2006 @ 12:09AM ET

The boys over at Dice just can't make up their mind with the Battlefield 2 v1.3 patch.

The v1.3 patch introduced a change to the query protocol to help prevent DDoS attacks. While Qtracker had no problem with this new query protocol, it appears that the in-game browser didn't fare so well.

Today the query protocol change was rolled back and there's currently a 50/50 split of old and new format servers. This probably won't last forever though. You can read more about this here.

With the Qtracker v4.22 release you can enjoy both new and old format servers without having to worry about all this mumbo-jumbo. There are currently over 6800 active Battlefield 2 servers in the Qtracker Masters....

                Sooo get fragging soldiers!

Nope...there is a clause that you should read posted on the ASE forums.

Is it possible to make filters with wildcards? Ie. if I want to filter servers by hostname such as "Multiplay.co.uk*" or something?

edit: Figured out how to do it right after posting this one :)

Been trying QTracker, it's pretty good but...

                          1. Every time I load it up its forgotten the server list and needs to get it again, any fix?

                          2. Whenever I click "Find Internet Games" it's scanning around 2,000 servers, but only displaying the 100 odd in my region. Going to Settings > Server Listings > Regions > and unchecking "Retrieve servers that cannot be region identified" fixes this, it should be off by default.

                          3. Qtracker just eats my connection, nothing else works when it's running. Clicking the stop button helps a little, but ASE was much faster and better at handling this. Going to Settings > Refreshing and unchecking "Automatically refresh..." helps, but should be off by default.

Qtrackers default settings are so scan happy and bandwidth hungry that with it running at defaults in the background I can't connect. Others with the same problems should find these tips handy.

if you go to the 'servers' tab > search you can easily find servers matching a certain partial name. I *think* you should be able to create a filter using the advanced filter options also. you might want to post on the qtracker forum asking how.

I believe its designed that way so you always get the most updated list. if you need to keep any special servers put them in a new folder.

have you tried changing your bandwith options in the connection settings. try using a much lower setting to throttle qtrackers bandwidth usage.

Re: The All-Seeing Eye is DEAD. Long live QTracker!

As long time ASE user and registred one I feel pretty riped off. I mean - all I want is, that the admin functions kick/ban user works. That is, because ASE don't need the stupid NefFramework crap from M$ - unlike the BF2 admin console! - and therefore is preferable.
Also it did not need reinstalling upon winblows reinstall, and I like the small, clean gui as well. But I can't use it to make room for clanmembers and since the EA/DICE team continually killing the reserved ports (no way to make them behave like they should...) - it is the only one way ATM to manually make room when need for clanmember.

Now - does the qtracker need to be reinstalled after windoze reinstall?
Does the qtracker have the kick/ban working for BF2?
And does the console working for BF2?

That is all I want to know...
