  • Black Ops 4 - No Single Player Campaign; Battle Royale Mode and BattleNet Exclusive Confirmed

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
There are times where you don't actually want to believe some rumors. That's the case with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which just had its big reveal event much to the delight of Zombies, multiplayer, and battle royale fans. Sorry single player campaign fans, you aren't included in this celebration.

That's right, Treyarch and Activision have officially killed off the single player campaign for Call of Duty. What's more is that they killed it off from the Black Ops series, which is arguably the best recent story arch the Call of Duty games have had going for it in quite some time. Instead, we have three different Zombies campaigns, the usual competitive multiplayer stuff, and a battle royale mode that we saw a total of 0 seconds of gameplay for today.

Also, the PC release looks like it's exclusive to with the port being handled by Beenox.

Anyway, here's what the PlayStation Blog has to say about all of this.

An important addition to Blackout is the fact that it will feature the "largest map ever built in Call of Duty." They say it's "1,500 times bigger than Nuketown," which actually isn't really saying much at all. 1,500 times the area? 1,500 times the polygon count? Nuketown is literally the size of the very tip of a cul-de-sac, so that's not saying much at all.

I've embedded some new trailers for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 multiplayer, the "IX" campaign for Zombies, the "Voyage of Despair" Zombies campaign, the "Blood of the Dead" Zombies campaign, and the introduction to the Blackout battle royale mode that shows off zero gameplay. There is also a trailer with some Blizzard employees talking up, which you can find below.

Black Ops 4 will be released on October 12.
