  • Industry Veterans from Blizzard, Konami, and Ubisoft Reveal Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption

Dark Star Game Studios is a fresh development studio based out of China made up of former developers from Blizzard, Konami, and Ubisoft. Their first project looks to be rather ambitious in nature and is slated to be published by Another Indie once complete. Their game is a new action-RPG called Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption and it is being made for Windows, Mac, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It's targeting an early 2018 release on these platforms.

Let's see what Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption brings to the table.
Adam, a fallen soldier on a quest to save his soul, will face eight abhorrent bosses, the first seven each based on one of the deadly sins. Before each clash, Adam must make a sacrifice to enter combat and choose a stat to level down. Each fight will be tougher than the last and force players to carefully choose their actions in battle, aided by a variety of unlockable weapons.

The action is framed by a desolate afterlife in which Adam seeks to restore his memories and atone for his sins. How he interacts with each boss will ultimately decide his fate in one of multiple endings.

"Sinner is not another game where the player grows stronger to fight the final boss on equal footing," says Iain Garner, Director of Developer Relations at Another Indie. "Adam will struggle with his physical prowess as well as his internal need for atonement, and his ultimate test will be his most challenging."

I've already seen some calling this game the "Chinese Dark Souls" because God forbid that a game isn't compared to Dark Souls in 2017, right?...

...Alright yeah, that looks a lot like a highly stylized Dark Souls inspired game.

Anyway, the game will be released in English, Spanish, German, Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Here's hoping that the seven man team at Dark Star Games can pull this off, because it's already looking quite impressive.

Working...
