Here's my question to all of you hypocrites:

If it's 'cheap' and 'gay' and whatever else, to fly and gun at the same time. Then WHY, I repeat WHY is it ok for people to switch to the gunner seat in a jeep?

I hear a lot of "choppers are meant for 2 people". Well, jeeps are also meant for multiple people, so are APC's, so are tanks, yet people use them alone almost exclusively, and nobody ever complains about it. Care to explain?

Actually don't bother, because I already know the reason. It's because solo gunning is HARD, and most of you people suck at it, therefore you are against it. Plain and simple.

It was the same thing with C4 throwing. People whined all day about how it was stupid, and unrealistic. Meanwhile, there is nothing unrealistic AT ALL about it compared to a million other things in this game. What is so far fetched about throwing a lightweight explosive a few feet away from you, then backing up and detonating it? Seems pretty damn plausible to me, considering that you can revive people from being blasted by a tank shell, or repair a chopper in 3 seconds just by hovering over a pad, not to mention a thousand other parts of the game that are totally unrealistic, yet nobody complains because they are EASY, while C4 throwing required practice.

Point is, when I see somebody solo gunning, I know immediately that they are a quality player. It takes a sh*tload of skill to be proficient at it, and that's the ONLY reason that you people are complaining about it.

well.. in all fairness. In a stationary jeep its perfectly reasonable to go from the drivers seat to the gun. Especially when the bullets aren't TV guided: The jeep needs to be stationary - if some noob is driving you cant hit ****!

However. In a moving flying helicopter, could you reasonably switch to the gunners seat, and guide a TV guided missile without dropping out of the sky? What if a missile locks on to you, do you scramble back to the pilot's seat and evade? lol... Its non comparable to a jeep!

I generally don't have a problem with chopper pilots who do this. I do, however, have a problem with the fact that while in the gunner seat, a chopper is immune to SAM sites. That's just wrong.

Most people do not like gunners... because they always SUCK and you end up waiting on them to hit a tank or apc or something so then you die

How do you know if they cant hit the broad side of a barn door?

If the gunner is cra@ which about 70% of the time or more they are then it is better just to do it yourself.

Problem with a bad gunner is that you WAIT on them to fire.... So you end up getting shot down because they cant aim the tv missles.


Solo Expert/above avg flyer can Win against any other expert/avg flying with a gunner that cant hit cra@

I dont think anyone has a problem with gunners as long as they can HIT the targets with out taking 4 trys and some people are very good at it

I'm learning how to solo gun bymyself because Sloi ditched me ( ) but anyways I'm doing this because when I get in a chopper some dumbass gunner will get in with me and once they have shot at the tank with the chaingun - Off to the out of bounds with them!!

I'm still going to help you learn bro, but I've been really busy lately. Keep pokin' your head in the SOB TS and we'll get you started eventually. :)

If I'm making kills every 30 seconds, for like 10 minutes == 25-30 kills then why should i get kicked because some noobs want to gun?

They see my name light up the scoreboard and they say "WTF is he doing with our chopper?" answer: "Getting kills moron!" What is wrong with these people?

Kicking you is not fair. It is a very bad idea.

I usually fly solo if nobody's around when I get into the chopper. But as soon as someone tells "Need a ride" I land next to him and fly away with him. But I definitely hate "teh uber pwnage" guys who think they grabbed God by his balls because they can fire from gunner's seat without a pilot. Helicopters aren't intended to fly this way and it looks stupid. And don't care if that gets them lots of kills. People want to be gunners so do I sometimes and I'm not the best gunner around. The point is...if you're a good pilot you won't mind getting a noob gunner in its seat because you can own tanks with you rockets. Gunner is just a cherry on top. Besides...you still cn use VoIP or server's TeamSpeak channel and talk to gunner.

Nope, I can see where hes coming from 100%. Flying the chopper solo is fine. I do nto solo tv missile. I do help the team, if hes doing that good why kick him?

I'v been kicked from not letting clans gun together. They want me to land the helicopter, and let them fly off in it and gun.. I oblige the first three times, its very apparent when they are back at the helo pad waiting for it to spawn again that they aren't no where near as good as me. I can see where a clan wants to fly the chopper, and do not like the idea someone else hasn't died, and they aren't getting a chance to fly it.

I haven't played in a bit, and I rarely get to the chopper first now. Always some idiot tking for it. I gurante that lately, my kill to death ratio in the chopper has went down. I have had more clans tk me for the chopper then I'v died. Not while I am on the ground, but while I am flying a way...

Insane, how lame people have gotten... I can agree with this guy though its lame to kick someone if they are doing good. I can understand if all they are doing is whoring it, and by whoring I mean sucking ass, and still lining up to get back in it. Most solo pilots especially in just normal BF2, are constantly taking out tanks. You put a gunner in the seat they are always going after infantry, and only thinking for themselves.. A few good gunners out there, but most suck, and do not even realize that you need to click the tv missile to move it, rather then holding down the mouse like alot of people do...

You'd be suprised what the cobra's hellfire missiles can do to infantry if you know how to place them... So I do not solo gun, but I do not always fly with a gunner.

to all of us solo chopper ppl, these noobs saying they hate us are just haters cause they suck ass by themselves or get owned by us. if you want a great server were no one will cry to you about soloing and you can spawn rape all you want and have patch 1.21...try fhm clan server at 70.86.173.155
24/7 dalian plant with friendly fire off. the server is usually always full so stop by and check out fhm. not only is it a good server, its competitive. chopper whores to watch out that i know of are fhm doip, fhm mad max, fhm silicon based, and fhm professor happy oh and me of course . if you think your good enough, take your game to that server.

to support your team. while the tv guide is great and the primary role of the weapon, a 2 man crew is always better than 1. further more, if i was in a jet on the opposing team, you wouldnt last more than a few seconds doing that ****.

no, 2 guys are not alwyas better than one. especially if you have a retarded gunner who tries to take a tank or chopper out with his machine gun rather than his tv missile. thats just plain annoying and a waste of the gunner capability. the tv missile is like the most powerful weapon in the game and if the guy flying with you doesnt know how to use it, he shouldnt be in there as opposed to a person soloing who can use both the rockets and tv missile to own. rockets for tanks and tvs for choppers. your post couldnt have been more wrong. if you were to play against me and my clan mates and you had a noob gunner flying with you, you'd know what i mean.

If pubs are for fun then i'm not having fun getting my heli shot down by an AA battery I'm circle strafing because my gunner is not paying attention and respawning to find an enemy squad and/or an enemy helicopter in position to try and steal our chopper.

Though it does **** me off when I'm hovering and the gunner isn't shooting at all the targets below and is looking at the water..I think it makes me more mad when someone steals the chopper and flys off by themselves. Especially when they lock a squad, and they end up being that last guy left. They bail...run to a flag, and no one can spawn on them. We lose. Lame. Don't be so goddamn greedy, no wonder new players run up with the 50 cal and shoot everyone out of the cockpit, they never get a chance to get in because of assholes like you.

you have either got unreal eyesight or really bad eyesight.

1.a tank as a mg on top that can take a chooper out
2.the noob gunner maybe trying to kill the mg gunner from killing you
3.shooting a tank would distract the tank from killing infantary for a few seconds

spend less time evaluating the gunner skill and more time using youre missiles on the tank,

you cant tell me that you can see everything !!

the gunner will not always be looking at what you are,
or infact the gunner may have spotted a at lining you up and chose that a priority target ect,or even a m95 sniper blah blah.

70% of so called noob guners think about how many ppl you are accusing of not being skilled when in fact you have only every tried more like 2% of the bf2 comunity in you trial by death gunner seat.

play on sharki as usa and go over the the mec heli base and rape consitant chopper whore's with the m95 and let a noob get in the heli or force him in by shoting around him that way they get some praccy but dont go around solo'ing
